At the moment broad channel is used a lot as RvR channel, as an effect people not at frontier zones getting a lot of unwanted spamm.

It could be great having a frontier channel like /f (text color maybe grey) to use only for RvR info.

I don't know how easy is that to be done, but if its possible, isn't it a nice idea?

Right. On Lyonesse, there was a 24/7 BG/CG for anyone.

It is up to the community to implement such a thing.

Agreed, its a community thing. Try to have a open CG all the day for OF RvR - if you keep it clear of spam and personal problems/disagreements it will help your realms RvR organization.

Sure, a new channel is always possible - but not needed. :-)

I agree with ramboz in case that, there is too much spam.

But i also wish there were more need for self organization of the players.

I dont think you can compare the situation now with the old days, because back then there wasnt a broad chat.

And realistically beholded, 90% of the ppl are consumers who only use, whatever you give them.
So if you give them a broad chat, they all will use it all the time and they even will forget there is a thing such as a cg.

The solution is to delete the broad chat.
I think this could be a very interesting experience for the server.
Why not test it for 1-2 month ? Delete trade, lfg and broad chat, see what happens.
(There is nothing to lose)

P.S.:
when i started to play here i was really annoyed of there exists a broad chat. Because this element turns daoc from a silent place where ppl where forced to organize themself by using there intelligence to a big whole yelling crowd. And - very worse - it remembers me of the stultifying game world of warcraft.

this was missunderstood, i dont mean to cripple communication,
i mean change it from a realmwide (spam)channel to a player selforganization.

If this cripples the communication, the players fail while trying to selforganize and have to try to do it better.
one aspect of daoc what i liked most was that the players were forced to initiate everything around them.
this changed with the time when daoc reoriented itself on mainstream games like wow. Those games encircle the player with an unchangeable world, he becomes something like an consumer.

but well, this might be a too psychologically issue, most peole prolly dont think about.

i feel your pain too, tough childhood? poor education...

try not to make senseless but useful posts please, like the ones you did on the RvR improvement thread.

i don't agree with cutting off all channels, and i don't see any harm for a frontier channel, making cg is old fashion anyway, i am playing on the server for a long time and i have never seen any rvr cg. using broad is a handy nice solution, it will keep get spammed, if another channel will not be created.

And you really think your frontier Channel makes it better in case of the spamm?! cmon

Ppl spamm everywhere. Trades in lfg, Lfgs in Broad, and Broadmsgs in Lfg Channel.
