Hi, first i'd like to say im very happy playing this server!

A thing that would bring things back and possible make more sence is to chance the relic guards.

At the moment they are bound to the Keep,
if one is killed the realm gets a msg that it is under attack. (correct me if im wrong)

I remember a time when the guards bound to the keep were low lvl (blue, yellow, orange).

Additional to this, if the one of the keeps from the same realm was Claimed by its own realm-guild: Some High lvl guards would spawn at the relic keep and patrol the area, if they were to be killed, the guild would be informed.
They have guild cloaks on and <guild name> which was cool.

It also made sence for the rvr activeness:
The less keeps the realm has = the less guards to defend its relic!

I think its a good idea, it might be too hard to do in code but here i am, sujesting it!

Comment as you please, but please stay on topic! so nothing about xrealms, stealth zergs or whatnot :D

Happy Hunting!
Dar!

hehe noo...

There were only normal guards there, but then there were highlvl guards if someone had claimed a keep in the same realm.

examble.
<Albion guild> claims Benowyc, and POP! suddenly you will have 10 more guards roaming the xcalibur keep with the guildname <Albion guild>.
If another realm, say midgard takes Benowyc, the guards at xcalibur disapear!

get it now or do i need to explain again?
and FYI i played EU/Excalibur

Ye vague memories of that. It was the reason people actually had to raid keeps before attempting an rr cause otherwise there'd be a ****** of guards.

I also remember it functioning that way. Its the reason why we would always take all the keeps first before trying to take relic keep. Otherwise there would be way too many high level gaurds to attempted a relic take.

Exactly, so when you saw some1 taking a keep people began thinking..."is this a relic raid? should someone go check?"

Darmas is right.
Its not to claim the relic keep  he didnt say that.

It's the issue, that the relic keep gets stronger, when the owning realm controls more keeps in its own area.

For example:
a.)
Albion has all its 8 keeps and they are claimed by albion guilds -
relic keep has very very strong guards.

b.)
Albion lost all its 8 keeps, raided by hibs/mids.
Relic Keep has very very weak guards compared to a.).

It really was like that and forced the players to defend their realm's keeps and also to conquer enemied keeps before raid relics.

Darmas is also right when he sais that the relic keep guards had the names of the guilds who own the homeland keeps under their name and they weared their cloaks.

heh i started a thread a few hours before this one asking for the relic system to be looked at. my request was shot down as if i was asking for a hand job at a quadruple amputee support group. i think albs are just afraid to lose their relics if a fair system is implimented.

as it is now they wait the 45 mins while we break doors and the spy says when we on lord and they all zerg rush in with twice as many people or more as the attackers have. they did this the last 15 raids in a row. if we had a method to weaken the relic keep this wouldn't be so easy.

what i dont understand is why albs are so desperate to hold the relics to begin with. the longer they zerg the relics the more people leave to their realm. is it their goal to have only one active realm and no rvr?

can't forget about he corpse summoner you could bind to to release to. I forget the command but it wasn't a regular release. The corpse summoner would only appear let say if fens or arv was taken and the keep reached high enough level the summoner would appear.

think this was how it was been a long time ago and is full of iirc....

That is total BS, I cant believe you actually think that.

When you (or anyone for that matter) attacks our relic keep, we get the realmwide message, that happens multiple times a day... takes some minutes before anyone bothers to look if its someone killing the guards for giggles AGAIN.

When the person finds a raid in progress he reports it in broadcast, now some leader opens a BG and gathers people in Sauvage, 15-30 minutes later they move from BK to RK, with slow speed.

... but no no actually, as our spy that we have carefully inserted into your guild informs us, that youre planning a raid, we hide 100 albs behind the trees of forest sauvage, where we wait fiendishly for the next hour or so until our spy calls us that youre about to take on the lord, then we rush in to kill you...

On a sidenote, the relic keeps now represent the live relic keeps in their weakend state, if such a system with lord-like guards from each claimed keep were to be implemented, they would have to add these guards to the current guard system.
