- Cut port timers, reintroduce instant ports.
- Introduce porters to Dun Bolg for Hibs, Porters to Caer Sursbroke for Albs, Porters to Hildskialf Faste for mids and make those 3 keeps unclaimable and with unkillable guards just like the usual porter keeps for the other 2 realms.

Agreed. Also it will be better if we see NF keeps. More challenge than now.

Those ideas are actually active improvements on the direct topic RvR, unlike the cut of BG's which i want to point out again as a big failure. You can't enforce people to like something, which is bad, more, just because you take away from them something they liked. Leaving players to emain with a realm rank of 3.2 or whatever is the Staffs idea will increase the already huge amount of one-day-flys (people that reach emain and quit the server or reroll after a few days/weeks/month). By cutting off the higher lvl battlegrounds the attraction of the lower battlegrounds wont be less. People that prefer bgs will stay in bgs and the only way to get people to the main rvr zone is to focus on that zone and improve it actively not passively.

Agreed too. I am sure people will do ragequit after wiping several times with rr3 against rr8-10. Our current bg setup is better than GMs will do and should stay like this. Also as mentioned before ( 123141 times ), many people want to see better xp spots in Emain. That's the only way to attract low levels to gain xp in frontiers and its like this --> lvlers bring some solos then duo and goes like this.

they complain if realmmates add "their" fights, they run out of combat if relmates add to let em die! they are rude if you do not play with their verry selfish "honorcode". if you do not share their view of honorcode then they will cut you and blame you whereever they can. to be honest all they want is incoming enemies in group of 8s lined up for their easykills. but they do not like to share them with realmates. the 8mens from same realms start fighting about their fights and so fort. in my view this game shouldnt be like that. that 8men mentality is destroying rvr.

remember zergevents? how many players showed up? where are they when there is no zerg event? and now ask yourself WHY they dont take part of rvr if there is no zergevent? i am sure the answer is not the porttime.

Much truth in here.
Realmpoint reset with the coming of old RAs might be a good idea.

I say 100% yes to insta port. It would gibe more life to rvr zones and will spread them (why i should w8 to port to Odins where are few inc or no inc, if i can w8 same tim and port to Emain). So insta port will give ppl more flexible choice.

About keeps. I don't know will it work 100% cause Uthgard have ot so much ppl as Live, but if there will be more joining ppl - than this idea would work. On the other hand, it could be investition to the future - ppl could come on Uthgard because of more flexible gaming.

Hi all^^
Sorry about my late answer but i wasn't very active on the last six month and i saw this thread only today..

Anyway, for sure the problem of teleporting system.. it should be fixed differently.
As i was not so active, it was boring having 1 hour to play and spending many minutes waiting the Visur inc all the time.. and then, if you have a group and someone loose the port you just stand in apk waiting more minutes again till they come up; this is really boring and it makes no sense to play even if you have a little time, and i think some players in my same situation have decided my same way; if i have 1,5 hour to play a game for sure i don't go in Uthgard, or at last i play in some BG (even if i should have low chars^^), and this second choice makes a Rvr 50 area empty of players even if the population is 700/800 on that time.
A instant porting system should help all the players which want to play lev50 rvr, who has all the day to spend on game and who has some little time during the day for playing it.
At last the idea should be to have instant porting and a 2,5 minutes illness( not more than this or people will get bored again^^).

Caroli explained his idea and i think it is good... anyway if it will be not accepted, no problem, but we need for sure to fix the problem in some manner or more players will leave Uthgard soon; i remember this autumn we were nearly 1000 players on (and many in high rvr area) all the days.. and this spring we were around 600/700 or less and not many in high rvr area.

New portkeeps => YES, but

the ones in Emain, Hadrian, OG.
killable guards and claimable.
only port avaible when the home-realm claims it.
horseroute stays, if mainRvRzone-port isnt possible.
backport in Druim Cain and same mid/alb borderkeeps possible.

Cut port timer. => NO, but

lower. (4-5mins) => If yes, no second port possible.
<Riot Control> Albion

Rentwin (28) Sorc, Relante (32) Necro, Gwinn (9) Cleric

<Blood Feud> Hibernia - paused

Rent (50) Druid, Rentina (50) Enchanter, Ofreal (20) BM

realmpoints are not the problem. take a look to last week rps.. alb guild eclipse is in front there atm.. and wohoo.. highest eclipse player is 6L8.. very high rr of course. Sure alb has all relics etc, but this shows, that there is always a possibility for newcomers to get rps and get higher rr. If u are bored with pugs, cause u die often, form ur own guild or search for one and play more with same people together. It will maybe take some time. But every other successfull guild-rvr-player had to spend this time before too. So whining about so called hardcore 8 men is just an easy and lazy way. Just organize urself in a better way and ur chances will grow. Whining about high rrs wouldnt solve ur problem too.. cause these guild grp 8mans would beat almost same amount of other grps with rr4 to 5 only. its a question of organisation and skill. so realmpoint reset isnt needed and will never happen.

If you are able to play the whole day its NP to have such high lwrp's.

Nothing against em, I run with em too. But, you have to see the time they make these rp's.

Like i'd said I agree with all the idea's.

Bloodwyne wrote:also i wanna say that this thread has nothing to do with the attitude of players. its about the rvr zone not the mentality... i agree that it needs more than just better conditions of the rvr zone to increase the fun for everyone, yes the mentality of the people and their attitude towards rvr, pvp or whatever is a big part of it too, but nothing that could be changed by a forum thread. if you wanna change peoples attitude or try to make them understand what they do is not good for the whole, then talk to them one by one. but please dont use this thread for this, theres noone who can give a solution to this in here so please focus on the topic.
Thanks

Ontopic:
I think there's really no need for a porter or unclaimable keeps. If Hibs are not in mood for Emain you can't change it.

I would also like to do more RvR in Hadrians or Odins - So we have to wait for port instead of other realms.

Emain is getting bored while you know that you are able to do also RvR in other frontiers (Odin's and Hadrian's for example).

Furthermore: QQ about rr-reset and 8-men-mentality are unqualified comments here.
I met enough (for me) NEW enemies in the frontiers who did not complain about High-RR or 8-men-mentality.

Many coments I read here are just offtopic and awful flame.

hi,

i personally dislike the idea, because its a player issue, like already said.

and if you remeber agramon, you would know that some grps just camped the portertower and it would be the same with a claimable keep .... just hit the door and wait if a grp porting in.

and if you claim the keep for alb, nothing had changed, cause hibs have to run from dl.

if hibs wanna come emain, they'll come w/o porter aswell, if they dont want, they wont come.

same in other frontiers. i rly like the mid and alb frontier, but porters at surs and glenlock/hlidskialf as recommended, would abandon the rvr in uppland and forest sauvage (like crauchon gorge in hib) and will boost the porter-camping.

another issue is the relic-defense ... with porters at surs and glenlock/hlidskialf you can easily instant port and run in 3 min to your magic relic w/o waiting for porter to snowdonia/vindsaul. bad luck for hibs with instant port to bolg hm ?

i dont want to offend you gris, but i think its like already said ... just a faster rp-gain for albs/mids in emain. there is rvr in the other frontier zones, and i dont think that an "improvment" is rly necesary. (and it would be not livelike  )

edit: it's easy to vote about implementations in the hibfrontier (as main-rvr zone), when the majority of voters are mids/albs cause it would be just an advantage for you. you would have the save port to emain in the atk/mtk and we can instant port to a (claimable) keep with easy killable guards ... its rly an improvement, for you. and even the porters in the other zones would be implemented too, you would still port emain.

just my opinion, you're free to flame it

edit: it's easy to vote about implementations

greetings, Dia

+ for Griseldas ideas. Waiting for Port is wasted time and the Frontier Zones are way to big for Uthgard.

Waiting 7-10 minutes is just deadly boring if not multiple groups running and your group happens to be the only group of your realm. And if someone goes and misses port, u can be sure that the roaming group thats alone in "emain" or any other zone quits, for pure boredom.

As for the camping, how does it differs the situation now? ppl camp milegates, or roam next to telekeep.

Like the idea. I think it does make RvR more attractive. No one ever liked the port timers anyway.

I mean, seriously, this game is supposed to be about fun. Waiting is no fun. "Livelike-ness" wont make it more fun. And with this change nobody would be hurt, could at least try it.

Semi-Offtopic: On Salisbury (german live server) used to be a guild named "Am Warten" meaning "Waiting". Wonder why they chose this name...

The port timer is 7 minutes, so I doubt you will EVER wait 10 minutes for a port

and with a 7-8 min. port timer you look at an average of 4 minutes, yeah.. that is sooo long
