Forced grind?

I started on Uthgard this month, July. I've began to notice just how weak the system is here, and wondering if there is hope for it to get any better? I'm not at all against grinding, but first off, I believe most players don't play daoc for the grind =D. Sure, making buddies along the way made it easier, and it all went along with how daoc was built on its community, however this isn't WoW, EQ, etc. PvE isn't the main attraction. Personally, battlegrounds are a great way to take a break from the grind and get in on some action. I've heard the old Brae was 1-35 and there was some sort of honor in it, such as 35's not ganking 5's, etc. However, you're mostly forced to level to 30+ just to get a bite of action. That is IF the battleground has anyone in it. Cap out of there, level a bit more for mostly empty wilton, and eventually thid. Being a long-time player, I remember the greatness that was DAoC. Trying to recruit others to experience it, is a whole other story. How does Uthgard expect to get new players hooked on their "grind till you die" theory. I've gotten one friend to play the game, and only after a week he witnessed what he was playing it for. A large group of 20-40's (mids) zerged the level 50 hibs today at our DF entrance. I quote "Man it is pretty sweet now this is why I Lvl". Way too many players are being lost in the mid-levels, and some at high level range as well. Of course, with more players on the server, the action will be better, with less server downtime. But can Uthgard even get new players, or slowly kill RvR waiting for players to magically appear to their server?

Grinding is part of the game, how dull it may be. However there are ways to get xp'ing to the max & making the grind shorter
eg. Use zone bonuses & try take the keep according to your level (brae/wilt/thid). Also try buying/farming xp stones. And make sure you always keep the mobs cap or near cap. Around lvl 45 you can start taking keeps and thus make your xp bonus bigger & bigger. (per keep there is an xp/rp/craft bonus, besides getting df) To summ it up get as much bonus as possible & always kill purp mobs Or go through the BG's (best xp ingame) "The past is what made the present, and is a guide line for the future." "A cynic is someone who knows the price off everything, but from nothing the value." "Memento mori, so you can live"

It's to bad we dont have that many quests on this server to xp on. (Cough, bring on SI already) For grind leveling, yes you should try to stick to the bonuses. 20% bonus for your realm owning the BG keep of your level, then xp in the fronteirs/DF for bonuses there... Camp xp is really nice aswell but you have to rotate camps to keep that up.
This server does not have the XP items some mobs dropped on live... Would be nice to have implemented, I even sent a request under ths missing quest forum but nobody seems to have noticed and replied. |

If you want loads of XP for questing and having fun, get a couple of friends together, some1 who has done Tajendi 1 and 2, and see how fast you can get XP there

just level in a grp, it is not that boring (it still is, but not THAT boring) to grind in a grp and you can reach lvl 50 in one week.
