Snare/DD spell under Sorcerer Matter spec line

In my experience (that I recall) with Snare/dd spells, the snare effect persists on the target regardless of whether or not there is damage being done to the target. Essentially this spell is designed to assist with kiting making the mob or player move 35% slower. I have noticed that when I apply my DoTs to a target the tick of the DoT will remove the Snare effect if I had previously cast the Snare/dd. I'm pretty sure a DoT tick isn't supposed to remove the snare effect, that's why I feel as if though this is a bug. I'd be more than open to hearing other people's opinions on this subject and if other casters with Snare/DD are experiencing this same issue. Like a suppression rune master?

On uthgard it's is like this atm:
casted snare/root -> canceled by all type of damage (yes, Dot's too) styled snare -> not cancelable by dmg i dont know if its right but i can confirm you. |

ah yes sorry that was wrong
at least style snare doesnt break with poisons (assassins), have to try out if DoTs doesnt break it also |

Yeah, Snares aren't supposed to break to damage, they're supposed to wear off gradually over time. Can we fix this or is this issue doomed since I cant compile a bug report to the specifications requested since I do not play live? And either way, I did play live on the American servers before SI was released. So if you're trying to emulated DAoC from pre-ToA, this needs to be fixed please. Thank you.

No proof = no fix Sorry but if we were to listen to all reports that simply said: I remember it this way we would not have daoc but "Hey this is what 100+ people remembered" |

Snare from styles should be broken by damage.
When you hit Garrote and do AH afterwards it will break the snare on live. Uthgard till 2003!

Explain to me the purpose of a Snare/DD spell then? I can't go back to 2003 and log in and create screen shots to prove this. This is a fundamental bug on the concept of Snare (from spells). I do not claim to have any knowledge or bearing on snare effects from Melee styles, but I do know that a snare is NOT a root. They do NOT operate on the same principle of broken when damaged. Maybe instead of trolling the forums to put people down you could take the time to investigate the issue yourself instead of assuming everything is hearsay. What sort of logic does it make to go into Live and prove something that was applicable in 2003? Why would they even make a Snare/DD spell if it was useless? I mean, with Catacombs/ToA classes and races, it's sort of a joke to say you're trying to emulate pre-toa anyways, so I wonder why I'm even trying.

Back in 2003 snare dds were bugged and were blocked by roots. Root would give immunity to your snare.
On current live and uthgard you can apply snare on a rooted target or a target with root immunity. You can reapply snare dd on the same target too. On live and uthgard, snare from snare dds breaks on damage and duration is affected by stoicism + det (unlike melee snare styles) and is purgeable (unlike assasin snare? im not sure).
To kite away from incoming enemies or to help your friends catch them. ![]() If you want to do bug testing on live you can just register a trial account and test away. It would give your claims alot more credability than you just saying you remember stuff certain ways. assasin snare is purgeable and gives immunity on live.

On live servers casted dd snare allways has cancelled upon damage. You casting a dot then snare DD is ummm... funny.
The only snare that isn't canceled apon damage is assain cripple poison. (unless purged) |

As i remember ,on live,snare was not broken by damage.We i did a snare style with my arms,the target cannot escape and i was able to hit him to death,like prevent flight ability of merc.That's why TWF is so ridiculous here too,each tick of damage break the snare,so finally it's so easy to escape of it.On live it was like running in Taj1 moving sands...

Style snare effects have no immunity so when you spam a snare-style you will break it by doing damage but you reapply it with this hit. So your target will not loose the snare effect. Uthgard till 2003!
