that is done by running camelot.exe correct? I get error 201 cannot connect to update server when i try that. are there any other suggestions?

patch it in windows if you cant figure it out ^^
you can run any windows 7 oem disc forever as long as you uncheck the validation update. windows 7 didnt come standard with strong validation software, they added it as an afterthought and it isn't a required update. silly microsoft. but it is also very cheap, so why not pay for it  |

ok so i tried it in windows and get the exact same error.

re downloaded the entire game using the daoc installer provided by Mythic. this is the new screenshot:

i have figured out the linux distro PCLinuxOS will run DAOC under the exact same setup.
i get to char select screen etc, however when i enter the game it gets extremely laggy to play and the faces on the character models are messed up. |
