Do you guys think we'll see a lot more friars and minstrels in alb groups after the 1.69 patch?

SoS will be totally awesome and friar reflex attack along with purge and trip (aoe root) should make him somewhat useful in groups?

Yeah, I guess we'll see more minstrels (Although rupt system is still broken) cause of SOS and speed (We'll see less paladins, so no more endu run with sorc speed).

And no, friars still sucks in 8 vs 8.

if defense penetration doesn't get fixed, minstrels will be very hard to kill at least 1v1 with dodger and mastery of blocking.

One of the dumbest things ive read on this forum. You seem to have nothing but negative to say about anything with no experience to pull from.

Theres no way we will see less paladins becuase a few people decide to roll minstrels, but played well a minstrel will always have a spot in my 8v8. I don't know why no one ever rolls with a minstrel here, but even though the rupt system is flawed they are still effective. They have always had sos and speed, so I don't even know what your babbling about there.

Are you ok?

I've been asked: Do you guys think we'll see a lot more friars and minstrels in alb groups after the 1.69 patch?

I answer: We won't see many friars, we might see more minstrels.

About my experience well, I've been playing daoc for 7 years and I play Uthgard RvR daily.

Read again what I wrote: Yeah, I guess we'll see more minstrels cause of SOS and speed. So again, what is wrong with you?

Of course they have always had SOS and Speed, but why SOS and speed will become more important now?

1) SOS will be more imba (You can attack / cast spells without losing SOS)
2) Armsman could be a better choice than Paladin (Because of Determination and the RA Tireless available to everyone). If you take an Armsman instead of a Paladin you can't perma sprint while roaming, and sorc speed without perma sprint is pretty low.

I don't know what your problem is, he's right on the money. Read before you reply, palas wont be played less cause of minstrels, check their old ra sheet.

There's several reasons why hardly anyone plays with minstrels here, number one is broken rupt. They have always had sos and speed, but without a paladin you can't sprint so you'r even slower then spd5, hence minstrel becomes more attractive after the change, sos is unique to albion after the change so there's another attractive point.

They also become alot more attractive to solo with. Though i wish the ruptbug would be fixed so i can play mine in grp again!

Probably one of the dumbest replies to a quote ever.

will SoS work same way it does now or different?

I love the ability on my skald right now. such an excellent teaser/escaper when soloing or a group saver when roaming around.

pity my skald will lack it in the future.

Sad to say it will work differently, i'm of the humble opinion that old RAs are a step backward, customizing NF RAs to find a middle ground instead of implementing old RAs and then customizing to find a middle ground.

Either way, here is the description Neju translated and which was originally posted by holsten, i think, in the german section:

Minstrel - Speed of Sound: Changed alot - only speed 3, and no more immunities. Basically - you cast it and become able to move and attack without breaking SoS, but you can be stunned/mezzed and so you cannot attack. When the 30secs of SoS run out, you are in the CC that affects you, so can be rooted/mezzed after it ends.

I got this from another site:

"

Your group moves at twice normal speed for 30 seconds. This ability will not break in combat. This ability also bypasses the movement penalties from mesmerize, root/snare, and stun, although other effects such as inability to attack will remain.

"

Is it different from this description?

Maybe, i'm not sure how to interperate "twice normal speed", it's one of those things we're letting ourselves into by going for old RAs, how will we ever prove a bug :?:

On the other hand, it doesn't break in combat, you can be mezzed while sosed and you can move but nothing but move for the duration( 30sec ), if the sos ends, you will end up cced if you still are.

SoS old VS SoS new...

SoS old:
speed 3
duration 30 sec
effekt: you bypass CC-effekt (even if you had them befor using SoS) and dont lose it wile fight. if the CC-effekt still run after duration is over you emediatly have that effekt.

SoS new:
speed 3
duartion: 10sec / 30 sec / 60 sec
effekt: you are immune to CC-effekts. effekts you had befor using the RA stay active, and you lose the SoS-bonus at the first attack you do. SoS new does not break with healing and buffing.
