I had a question on how +to bow works. I know with the majority of melee lines, having +only effects variance and damage up to 50, but I know with assassin's Critical Strike, if you go 50 and have + to it, its like speccing damage wise beyond 50. My question is where bow lands on this, I am thinking if it works like Critical Strike, I will make a complete Sniper, but if it doesn't work this way, I will be making a Hybrid and drop the bow level down some.

I've always been under the impression that bow damage benifits for specing is that after composite 50 or 51 , every point after has deminishing benifits. Which basicly means that every pts over give less and less extra damage. But im not totaly sure, i havent tested that. Of what i experience, if you plan on 45 - 50 bow, you are giving up any real melee and by doing so, youl most likely have issues when Old Ra's come vs assasins when camo is down. On top of that, there is many archery related bugs, like no procs, arrow weight, and so on, and that bow damage isnt all that great , when you consider in the real high block rates, misses and only being able to get in a few shots before getting intrupted.

Most stick with 35-40 bow spec and spec more into melee , so they can compete in both. Specing to 45-50 bow + skill, will give better results, but at greater cost to your melee surviviblity.

Bow uses the 2H mechanics, which means each point into the bow line adds an additional .5% base damage.

That means the different between 35+16 bow (51 composite) and 50+16 bow (66 composite) would be 7.5% if everything else remained equal.

I would go melee or hybrid (half bow, half melee) given the way the RvR game is played here. I would not recommend full-bow as you'll be in melee far more often than you suspect.

Okay, so it doesn't cap at 50? In a lot of situations 35+15 and 50+15 are exactly the same because it caps.

What you should be doing is consider the spec you can go with, with 35+15 vs 50 + 15, as there is a great diffrence in how well you can melee, buffs you can spec for , or how much stealth you will have. If you go with 41+15 or higher, you will have to lower stealth, melee, or buffs to be able to have such spec.

Keep in mind that a pure sniper spec Ranger will be worthless with the OF RA system. No Desperate Bowman and Purge on a 30 minute timer. If you get stuck in melee you will have no way to escape and you will just die miserably.

Hybrid will be the only way to go so you better start practicing your side-stun now.
