Seemingly bard+eld is the best at first glance, but my main concern is adds. If you get added, all you have is a quickcast to free yourself. Obviously, too many will kill any duo, but with bard+bm you can at least slam/snare peel the bard and the bm doesnt die in 4 hits. Bard+vw comes to mind but the lack of stoicism etc is a bit rough imo.
Bard+eld and bard+bm are fairly easy to build off of as well, if you want small man or a fg.

Another idea that comes to mind is bard+ment. You're faced with the same problems as an eld, but you're trading debuffs,disease, and snare for heals, cure mes, and charm.

Going back to the bm, a trio i used to run was bard+druid+bm. BMs seem to do decent enough damage, certainly fulled buffed, to produce, but any idea how well the trio would fare on uthgard?

I've found Druid + Light Eld to be quite good aswell. Downsides are ofc no speed and no (de)mezz but eld mezz is still quite good on non stoic/det tanks.

Lack of stoicism isn't as big of a deal for duo so I think bard VW is really good. If you could run 3 bard/chanter/ment can kill things real fast.

Where would you run with this duo anyway? BGs?

BGs to level, but primarily late night rvr as im PST, and in df, the only time lack of stoicism raises an alarm for me would be against sorcs, really =/, especially in the off chance that it ends up bard vw vs sorc cleri

it also seems to me like vw damage suffers the 2h woes that main tanks have, and a bm would outdamage a vw =/

I think you should know that visible solo and smallman is virtually dead on Uthgard and has been since OF was implemented. This is coming from a person who ran solo/duo 90% of the time, and ran a trio the other 10%.

In light of that, my suggestion would be to either pick classes that are also useful in full group setups, or to pick the stealther route and roll a duo with at least 1 MoS char.

SHould work nowdays too

Champ has rupt, debuffs, insta-DD and (according to spec) slam. Or the LW-Backstylestun.
Decent duo in my eyes.

If you have a Vale that can strafe, you should be okay with the damage too. Sidestylechain and Conflag are good styleprocs.

Lack of stoicism is nonsense. Most Vales have Purge 3 anyway and a Bard+Caster duo hasn't Stoicism either.
