Why the loot nerf after all these years?

Before you come back and tell me that the loot values and drop rates for the bears, fenrir, and especially the wolverines were not live like please adress the issue I am bringing to your attention.
By so drastically reducing the ability to farm gold you have created a massive insurmountable gap between the wealthy and the normal players. The current economy is based off of the old drop rates and values, newer players do not have the ability to farm for plat like so many others have been doing for years. This is imbalancing for game economics. Some will argue...raid for items and sell them. I simply answer that raiding is not the issue, we deserve the same loot tables that created this ecomomy that we must function within. Many of us with less than 80p saved up, who have limited raid potential, or do not haVe the time to raid, or roll a raid friendly rr5 toon, feel gimped by this blatant loot nerf. This nerf only helps the elite stay elite, and keeps the little man down. Repeal these nerfs, they only hurt the ecomomy. |

well i guess i am one of your socalled ''wealthy elite'', at least if i look on my hundrets of Platin i own..
and yes i have to agree with you. the ammount of gold i made one in 1 day when i started 6 years ago i hardly get in a month now. earning gold is realy not funny nowadays. of course it should not be easy...but even with salvagging at the good spots i do not get more than 700g per hour. additional to this problem the most important spots are bugged since years now. (DM with all its studded drops which salvage into a not useable item for albs, so you loose 50% of the salvaged value on this bug)(or salvage into lower material than it should). |
|
Please report these items here: http://www.uthgard-server.net/modules.p ... ic&t=16345 |

why should i report a problem which is KNOWN by the staff since more than 4 years now, and its reported more than a dozzend times now..
doesnt look like a 13th time is the way to go to get it changed. staff told us to collect items which salvage into the not useable (hib)material....we did. staff told us to collect items which salvage into too low material...we did result ... still unchanged |
|
musikmus I think staff has to change every single item 1 by 1.. so if drops still drop with the wrong salvage type I guess they need to know what items are still wrong?
and tbh I haven't seen a big collection of "these items salavage wrong" posts only the occational "all studded in alb salvage to X instead of Y" which isn't really helpful if they have to change the items 1 by 1? |
|
just go into RvR a bit more often. I did ~ 4.5 P with my bard in the last few weeks without doing any mobs (only a few temple runs).

It's fun to get advised AGAIN and AGAIN by the staff to report them, isn't it? =) Although it's SO simple: ALL!!! (except maybe the very few that might have been fixed) Studded Items in Alb/Mid salvage into Hibernia material, no need to report them 'one by one'. I'm pretty sure, Kul's Iron tipped Whip or what it was called is still salvaging into Iron instead of Arcanium. And lots of other stuff been reported already. |

there is an M too much...thanks
and what hard to understand on ALL...it means ALL studded salvage into damn hib-trash (at least for alb and mid its trash). staff has a can see the hole loot-table of a mob..so they can spot those studded crap. my guild twice did a collection...of about 200 items...than kronos transmittet those collection to the staff..ask him to who he addressed it..as PM to clear this out...so no you couldnt see it here on forum, but they where done. (so ask him who was the receiver of those lists) for those lists following guilds worked together: Army of Immortals Nachtfalken Raiders of the lost Ark also there is an topic in the bug-report section with SH items...also longer than 8 months now...also nothing done. |

Even though I don't think this should have priority over some of the more important fixes (that also might seem to be lacking sometimes), I must say that your "guesses" about whenever there's a conflict between staff and community effort, you ALWAYS guess in the favor of the staff. No offense, but this is just making me (and many more) think you don't have a mind of your own, or at least one that is always on a "staff can't make mistakes"-status. It's not really helping the image the community is getting from you to be honest. |
|
Zarkor I "always" take the side of the staff because no one else seem to do.. and if I didn't, it would quickly just be a huge rant against the staff
I simply try to enlighten people who seem not to be seeing it from the staff perspective .. I do have a mind of my own - however as a mod I have to try and enlighten people in what might go through the staff minds and try to make people understand why things are the way they are and why staff say / do the things they do.. and yes.. it is mind boggling to me too that some changes does not happen - however I manage to look at it from the staffs perspective instead of a player perspective.. because tbh.. no one here besides the staff has insight on what is going on in the staff sections of the forum or in their IRC channel or in their TS channel.. We can only guess.. and that is what I try to do, in order to help people understand the process and the work flow of the server |

If you are talking about the Fenrir Spot - we have not seen a single report of a player stating that the income per hour is by far too high. The income was approx ~1-2p per hour in a small group just by selling fenrir ears (not counted in other loot!). The change was needed as such amounts mean inflation to the whole system caused by the few player who farmed there instead of reporting.
Talking about Salvaging Loot. If a high lvl item salvages for low-level material, usually the item has got the low-level materials name as part of the whole name. Example: Kuls IRON tipped whip. As far as I know, many items were already fixed, but it seems, that our "safety system" is hammering these manual changes. However, it is only a few items which is why there is a low priority on a fix. Characters:
Midgard: Nothing atm Albion: Nothing atm Hibernia: suxx ^^ |

sethor...kidding?
a FEW items...? DM: about 40% of the loot = studded Stonehenge: about 30% of the loot thats worth to be farmed = studded studded salvage into strips for mid AND alb and im mid i guess there are also many items affekted from that espezially in malmohus the hole bloodied set.. why you say its only a few items when TWO realms suffer a BIG disadvantage in the moneyrecovery from salvaging because of that? |
|
The key point here is that you don't know. You know as little as the community yet you just "guess" the staff's behaviour or reasons behind what is happening/has happened. Whenever a community member does the same, but is guessing things that aren't giving the staff all the advantage of the doubt, they get told to stop speculating about staff's behaviour... This is why it's so annoying. Oh well, I'll just drop it. It's too off-topic anyway. ![]() |

About studded items that salvage wrongly into hibernia trinkets for Mid and Alb:
(means: Only correcting this would be reasonable. I'm gonna have a look at it after OF Release.)
So it's a known bug, but it's low priority. |
|
He is right its been reported over and over its same on mid. ALL studded salvage into hib strips in Midgard even if I make a piece of armor and salvage it I get a usless hib strip I can't trinket. It should be metal salvaged, the salvage loot tables at Motog's site explain the values. I know of some chain armor pieces that salvage wrong aswell But it is all studded in mid that is wrong. Its not a few items in mid /sigh |
