Hi All
Updated to comply with the sticky on submitting technical queries.

http://rapidshare.com/files/383947562/DxDiagGareth.txt

Everytime I try to enter TNN my system crashes.
The screen goes blank and there is a "no signal" message and the monitor goes into standby mode.

I'm running the following PC set-up

Windows XP Home SP3
Radeon 9200 Pro Family 256mb
AMD Athalon 2800+
1 GB Ram

I know it's an old system but it was running DAOC 3 years ago with no problem and I have all the original disks.

I down loaded the 14 day trial
Patched it, added the mods and it still doesn't work.

The only thing that has changed on the PC 3 years ago is the Graphics card, but I checked and it is supposedly supported.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Tried to update your graphic card driver?

Is DAoC the only game that crashes? If it's the only game played on the computer it could be possible that your RAM is damaged and just crashes the computer when a certain amount of memory is used.
So try testing your RAM with memtest86

Last but not least, tried using the repair function of DAoC? Maybe there are corrupt system files.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Firstly the card was only fitted a few months ago so it would have the most up to date drivers that were available then. It is unlikly that they would have been updated since, as it is an old card.

DAoC is the only program it crashes with, WoW is also played on this computer as well as a myriad of Facebook game applications .

I'll try the memtest 86 tonight, but I'm not sure how to access the DAoC repair functions.

I have noticed while trying to make sense of the DXDiag that there is a problem with the ddraw.dll file

"The file ddraw.dll is an old version, which could cause problems. You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version."

So I'll be trying to re-install Direct X 9.0C, which to be honest I had thought had been updated during the installation of DAoC.

Go to your daoc folder and run camelot.exe. On the first window click on "Run complete file check" or something like that.

that is the old style ;) in the new patcher it does this by itself...

so: just run camelot.exe and let it patch (remember to reinstall your mods)

Firstly I repatched the system via camelot.exe and re-installed the mods but this didn't make any difference.

I tried re-installing direct x 9.0c but it would not update the ddraw.dll file so i had to manually update the file. Again this did not make any difference, however the dxdiag check does not come up with any issues now.

Double checked the drivers but it seems i'm up to date.

I've yet to try the memtest86 so that's my plan tomorrow.

I've only got 1gb of memory, surely this is enough to enter TNN? There does not appear to be any problem with any other areas so I do not understand what makes TNN so difficult.

Any other suggestions gratefully received.

After re-installing DAoC and still not getting any result I did a re-install of the video driver and hey presto it's working fine.

Quite surprising really as this pc is used to play WoW and there's been no problems whatsoever.

Thanks to everyone for their help.
