In response the the entire poll thread and from what was posted on page 3 by Infi "Just to make it clear: I (and probably lots of other ppl) will stop playing here if the rvr zone is changed to nf again. I'm totally happy with the setting right now. We just need to get the players out of the bg to the rvr. "
I agree, there needs to be a way to get more people into RvR. I don't think there is a population crisis on Uthgard but I do think that once 50, RR4L2, many find it frustrating and too much of a transistional change to continue to advance and have realm vs realm contact after 50. A lot of time and energy and planning go into achieving level 50 and a lot of the hopes for what that character could achieve are often dashed by the stale action they find upon 50 ding. There needs to be motivation for going out and RvRing. Status qua and being recognized by and in the realm is a strong motivator in DAOC. On every server, we can all look back and recall one person that was the top RP person and we all held them in envy. It is the same on Uthgard. In Hibernia, that is Ronia the Ranger. If each person is giving the opportunity to have this posistion of fame, it can create some motivation for engaging in weekly or daily RvR. The town Crier could announce the hero or the day, week and month. ( I am not a programmer so I don't know how difficult ANY of these things are.) The top 10 guild flags could be displayed throughout the capital. Those currently holding keeps could additionally have their flags displayed throughout the capital. A title could be granted to players whom have achieved hero of the day, month, or year that can also be viewed by enemy realms. These are all things I think would not affect game balance in anyway but would create positive motivation for many players to enage in further RvR. Things that could improve contact in RvR. Reduce each realm to 1 Relic keep. Reduce each realm to 4 keeps. |
