Played live servers for about 5+ years. Haven't played since 1.2 years ago until I logged on Uthgard about a couple days ago. I've played multiple RR5+'s and mainly I'm just trying to play something that I can solo on decently and group on decently. My choices...

Skald
Blademaster
Minstrel
Cabalist
Sorcerer

Also...anyone who's willing to send me a guild invite would help make my choice. Want to be part of a guild since I plan on sticking with that very toon.

then u should play a meleeranger. best solo on server at the moment (till weapdmg or ras was fixed) and u can hunt other stealther in grp as example.

Skald, can't go wrong with that. Mages are generally meh for soloing (no buffbots, no slow casting speed and you'll die in 1 hit from any stealther because viper dot will finish you off). Soloing on blademaster is okay if you feel like spending 98% of your online time running once you hit 50 and your RA specs will be in conflict (group ones don't fit for soloing and vice versa). Minstrels, hardly anyone takes them in groups.

That sucks about Blademasters, I was thinking of speccing 42 Shield, 39 Blades, 39 Celtic Dual, 28 Parry. Was very effective on live servers,

Ranger damage sucks compared to dual wield tanks...

I would go for Skald or Minstrel. Best choices grp or solo

I decided on Skald. Simply because the Realm Abilities I can spec for solo or group will run a similar line. I would have done a Blademaster, but for groups they're going to want you to have Determination, and the main reason for me going 42 Shield, 39 Blades, 39 Celtic Dual, 31 Parry is so people go "What the hell?" when they're trying to hit me with that on top of Evade III.

His name is Acalibur, just got him to 5. Just need a guild and some spare gold to help start me out. If anyone's willing to help let me know please to what toon name I should contact. Thank you for the input people.

if you go BM spec full wep full cd rest parry. I dont understand why people spec shield for RVR. I always found enemy tanks weren't the issue with advanced evade, and parry, rather it was the casters that were the issue. Spec for max damage and hope your casters/bard/druid can interrupt or mez/root the casters till you can finish them off. It might be a little harder solo, but in groups you deal out a good amount of damage, and if you can let a hero take main tank while you side style spam or back style spam.

In their current state minstrels aren't very viable in groups at all. Good thing mine has some ra's or i'd get no grps at all. I'd agree that with rupting working livelike, minstrels are a very fun and an allmost necessary grpchar.
