They want to make fast damage to kill other stealthers with their zergs. No need scout with "custom" volley. Like I said most of my hits were blocked by his shield. Sames goes for many mercs and warriors, really huge defense but of course ranger is too strong.

You were afk in combat mode? :D

Well its true, scout with good ras is hard enemie. Scout is only 1 archer who really must choise melee or bow.

Im totaly agree with Ronian, for black adders scout is only slam bot.

Not really. He blocked 2 diamondbacks and several anytime combos. Next time I have to use other tactics.

Btw you should compare rangers to nightshades, infis and sbs, because it is a more appealing class than hunter and scout like it was on live in classic days.

By the way, assassins are easy for a RR5 Hunter to solo. There are maybe 3 assassins on the server that I have a problem with.

Easy, you have your pet to keep them in combat so they cant stealth^^

Since I made a ranger and joined the server a few weeks ago, I'll make a comment.

Never did I look at what people were QQing about on forums or seek opinions about which class was "ubar" when I rolled my ranger.

On "live", I had played a wizard, healer, a hunter, and a ranger. Since I was new, I didn't think it would be easy to find a group so I immediately gravitated towards either Hunter or Ranger or considered making a Scout.

I then learned that there were no buff bots allowed on Uthgard, which immediately removed Scout as an option. I think scouts are better than rangers and hunters, but that's only if they are buffed with a bot (which makes sense because they could put points into something else other than buffs). Then it came down to a Hunter or a ranger. The difference is that the Hunter relies on the pet damage in melee, whereas the ranger does not. And when I played my Hunter you had to charm one, which gave away your position. I wasn't sure if Hunters could summon a pet, didn't want to bother even looking it up. Also when I played a hunter, there was no autotraining benefit. Again, didn't bother to look it up if that had changed. I just went with a Ranger because it had the buffs and no pet requirement and had autotraining availability.

Are rangers overpowered? I don't have much to say on that as I don't have any spellcrafted weapons/armor yet, and I'm competing against people who likely do. I would have preferred to make a scout, but the anti-buff bot system precluded that option.

I can say that probably because of the # of rangers relative to the other stealth classes, I wouldn't be shocked if the other stealthers form stealth groups, which of course results in stealth groups of rangers/nightshades.

i cant agree with u.
the problem is not that weak scout/hunter , its really the oped Ranger.

i play sb and hunter for myself. in my opinion the real prob is the ranger-mainhand-dmg, which should be fixed to perform well and not oped.

ROFL. Best post ever. My ranger is 44+20 CD and sbs/infs/melee scouts hit me almost for the same damage. High ranks for the same and I got PD4 (which is almost my whole defense) and stop compare ranger with hunter or scout. These are different archers. Its like comparing champ with friar.

And yes, there arent that many scouts that can kill me and its a matter of playstyle. Most of the grp at least in duos for easy mode slam+pa+viper3.

High Rank ranger makes max 120 damage with slash on me. Blademaster up to 180. What should the staff fix?

I like feeding stupid trolls. 8O

Fix pet damage and maybe test again 2hand damage it is too low I think, a least for pure 2hands (non mid 1hand/2hand spec). And yes, scout performs really well just get some hints of Deagle. He does his job very well!

So a Scout gets extremely lucky with blocks and evades and suddenly the class is competitive?

Come on, Ronia. I have watched melee Scouts like Trolgrin get utterly humiliated by melee Rangers. It was not even close.

Just think how bad this problem would be if Hib controlled strength relics. Right now Mid controls strength relics and you still do x2 the damage of a melee Hunter.

how well does engage work? any scouts try engaging till immunity drops for re slam?

works on live, but they have a lot more survivability, DW/CD doesn't halve your block rate either, but uthgard block rates are higher anyway.

You'd run out of endu real quick. How long do you have to wait after attacking some one before you can engage them?
