Hey guys! Some of the turtorials had alot of information, and quite frankly, was hard to understand. Anyways, I'm pretty sure I did everything right and everytime I try to long into the server:

Retrying...
Retrying...
Retrying...
Service not avalible
Push ESC to exit game

Any help? I patched and everything. However, I didn't have to put in a CD key..and I don't know if I used a wrong launcher etc.

PS: How do I check which client version I have? I download everything I could from the offical webiste: Catacombs, Isles and darkness..and thats it. They should be the most current ones - but I don't know. Plus, IRC won't let me in - so I appoligize for bringing this to the forums.

Regarding the launcher: No-one can tell you if you are using a wrong one until you let us know which one you're using.

Your client version should be visible in the startup screen (normally upper or lower left corner). On top of the Retrying steps there should be a line with something similar to

v. X.XX Loading ....

Alternatively, take a look at your Readme.txt located in the DAoC directory. Somewhere near the top there should be something like

And for the final problem: Either the server was down/rebooted at the time you tried or you are using a wrong IP. Check your startup screen again. You should see the line

Establishing communication with 81.169.136.116

If the IP is different you need to edit your launcher. (Procedure depends on the launcher you want to use.)
