ok, first off, i am using a weak laptop. it's what i have so i am trying to work with it.
the game works pretty well for me. i can actually play the game and all goes well except for TNN and DF. when i try to go into those the game client crashes. i tried to update my files to the latest/greatest patch but that actually made things worse for me. so, i reverted back to what i had. so, i thought "what if i go even further back in time for TNN files". i grabbed my original installation cd and installed it. i grabbed the TNN files from the zones/zones209 folder. it's the tir* files that i see that i need to work with. i tried to just copy/paste those old files over the top of the new. wow!! the map loads a bazillion times faster. although, my toon is just hanging in the air in what seems to be an endless fall. anyone happen to know if what i am trying to do is even remotely possible? i feel it has promise but i'm not totally convinced. thanks ahead of time *a few hours later, an edit* it looks like it might be possible. i have been swapping the files and managed to get tnn to load but crashed when i moved. i have since lost the "magic" combination. hopefully, someone can provide an answer. again, thanks ahead of time ** |

First ... can you tell me if you have the same bug in Jordheim and Camelot ?

i found the issue. simple enough, need more ram.
what i did was i found my original camelot CD and took the zone files for TNN from the original and over-wrote my daoc install with those. wow, did TNN load fast and i didn't crash!! however, i was standing in mid-air and no walls to be seen. so, i slowly replaced the original with the newest version of TNN files. with every nif that i updated TNN took more and more and more RAM until it got to about 512mb. no matter what i did, once i passed that mark it crashed. |
