Its not about zerg beeing good or bad, its more about having balanced fights. 4vs4 is as much fun as 8vs8 is, and 32vs32 is also fun, but well coordinated(wont ever happen because you wont be able to make 63 people behave correctly if they are not trained soldiers that is) 64vs64 is fun aswell i bet!

Ofcourse its about map. In agramon you could avoid the zergs because of two milegates, you could xp, you could go solo and also avoid sthealthzerg...

Realm balance--->population balances.

Map balance--->playstyle balance.

with 1-2 fg per realm maybe :grin:

2 mile gates means little with so many grps and the god aweful killspam messages that tell everyone where the fights are to add on...

If you really want to cut the zerging/adding remove those damn messages :)

Yea, but now what happens is that mids decide to zerg and albs and hibs log acuse they dont want to play like that (which is ok cause its their prerogative) and woalla, empty lvl 50 zones, all because they camp amg so neither hibs nore albs can pass.

actually, with the setup that we had for four weeks this wouldnt be a problem:
if agramon is full you just used the boat-service into the backlands (of course you had to hope that the arrival point wasnt camped but most times it wasnt) and voilá you were behind enemy lines, could raid a few towers to attract a fg and just get rvr fit to your taste

The relic raid yesterday noon was fun! 6+ grp albs blocking the mmg in hadrians, first 2 mid grps from both sides, after wipe 4 grps together, while one man hides with the relic... that is the only thing that makes daoc unique.

Awesome def job from the albs, and sneaky hibs steeling one relic meanwhile.

No other mmorpg has such big battles, while every other mmorpg has 1vs1, 4vs4, 6vs6, 8vs8 or whatever the grp size of the game is.

And at least this battles are still challenging, while kicking your butts in 8vs8 is getting more and more boring :lol:

Just kidding, i know mids are so op, we are always 10+, bla bla...

btw. respect to rare, they where the only ones yesterday coming back after loosing 3 times and still did not add into a fight. And they where not in their best setup. Whats up with ferol (i would vote best grp minstrel on server)? Geppi starts feeling lonely in fights without his perma rupting shadow :)

So me and my friends rolled hib a few days ago. By the look of this thread hib is useless and not worth playing. Is this true? We went hib b/c we have beat alb/mid to death and wanted a new experience. But we don't wanna deal with overwhelming odds in RVR.... So should we reroll another realm?

hib is fine

don't listen to all the QQ threads

most of the guys dieing are the lower realm rank guys going up against higher groups

higher grps such as TC are doing ok when they run...

the balance is slightly against hib, but it's nothing that cannot be overcome with good playing.
