I was in DF and i got a message someone died, and i knew where this player was, and luckly i was just right by. It was a Infi, that killed a lower lvl player on hib side. So i opened up with a normal shot, fallowed by another normal shot, and as he was running for cover, the second shot was evaded, but luckly i was recording it on video and when i went back and looked, with virtualdub, frame by frame. The exact frame when that arrow was evade, the enemy was facing far away from me, making me suspect the evade and other defense radiuses are greater then 180 degree, as the enemys shoulders where not lined up with me and i was still behind him , where i suspect he shouldnt of evaded but he did. Here is the video frame screenshot as the frame that the arrow was evaded.

There is an arrow, pointing where the enemy is and a smaller arrow showing his movement direction. He was heading behind that wall to get out of view, not the piller, but the wall.

This screenshot shows me in the position where the enemy was, at the time as he was shot/evaded the arrow and the direction he was heading in, since he didnt stop as he was running to turn, so i know he didnt do that. The circul marks where my position was.

Here is a screenshot of the chat log, showing my first shot, then the second , which was evaded, then i ran over to see him behind the wall, which i had to make my way to the right, then i used a dd charge to prevent him from stealthing, and quickly got in a normal shot before engaging in combat.

I remember back somewhere there was talks about ways to prevent lag issues with defenses and increasing the radius and if this is why, then that isnt a fair fix, as only some classes get advanced evade, where others should only get the default radius, anything more is agenst the classic rule set.

well ANY defense is limited to a range of 180° in front of your toon..

which is only logical since you have no eyes in your back to see and avoid attacks.

only exception are..classes with ''advanced evade'' which gives them the chance of 360° evade.
is an ability from merc and BM
for mid i am not sure if zerker gets that too

well this was an infi, so i know it wasnt because of advance Evade, which i know is 360 degree.

Hey blue or other staff, was there any adjustments to defense radius, above normal behavor ? or could this be a bug. Only other thing that could explain this, is that there could have been minor lag and the actual time the arrow hit, was a sec before it actualy showed on my screen, which could of been within the 180 degree radius, but would of been very very unlikely because of the direction the player had run without stopping during the second shot.

The screenshot is blurred. You can see nothing but purple glows.

Attacks can be evaded in a 180° angle, except for the advanced evade ability and the Runemaster rr5 ability where the angle is 360°. Just checked it in the sourcecode.

well video recordings tend to be blurry. I would of taken a screenshot during the time it all happened, but i cant predict the future like that. Here is the recorded video, sorry its not better quality.

http://www.wegame.com/watch/ranger-vs-infi/

Its the second shot that was evaded, as soon as the enemy passes the last piller is when the arrow hit/evaded. Could have been right at the 180 mark, but i wasnt sure. Will have to keep an eye out for more of this incase. And maybe try and up the bitrate of the video capturing, but i dont know if that is possible on wegame, unless i up it to HD recording, but that causes some lag.

If you watch from second 8, he is running in an angle of about 80-90° from your sight. So for him you have attacked from either 0-10° or 170-180°. Looks ok for me, although it is close.

this is not true Nayru. Every class has actually every defense in 360° in a small radius around the char. I guess this is because of the fix from "out of view jumping". I just checked it on friday again and it works :-)

The evaded shot was at second 11, as you can see in the chat log, all that scrambly text lol. And as i thought, there was a small chance it landed just at like 180 degree, but will have to keep an eye out.
