slam/melee range tests on pendragon and uthgard

I ve done 2 tests so far on pendragon,slam/melee vs a static target and vs a moving target, vids here:

Looks like 256 to me when moving? Not? At least slam distance is same as your melee range.

to me it looks like run range = 1.75-ish*stand-range

Same yes, all teh time melee was same with slam range.

If the target is moving, the attackers range increases [on Uth and Live]. Sounds strange but thats how it is.

You can easily test that its 256 units like we did in our test.

Drop loot on ground where the attacker is. Try to attack target without moving. Move the target a microstep left or right. See exact range to attacker with /range and targetted bag. For the range extension its enough that the attacker moves. Even small movements extends the range.

duno how it is but slam range is not livelike here on uthg, i get slamed from miles away.

/range with lootbag is more powerful. Attacker drops lootback right under his feet. Defender makes small moves while attacker tries to slam. If you get your slam, do /range to the bag.

Just tested on live with the strafe trick. When I strafe in front of the test mobs they even hit when I'm 247 units away.

Players the same. In a duel I was able to hit my opponent from 251 range if he is moving. I would wonder if slam makes any difference.

Uthgard is already live like in this case. So many discussions on this topic already in the past but its on live like it is on Uthgard.

And before someone says that is lag, no that is what always happens regardles of lag. Same thing happens with savage backstun (or it used to happen, not sure since I haven't seen the svg backstun on me in a while).

a moving target compared to a non moving target, is diffrent because one is effected by lag more. Even a little bit a lag can make a target look like they are in one spot, while the server side sees it at another. So i hope that is being considerd into your guys testing. Just because you have all green, doesnt mean there isnt a few sec of delay, espicaly on a moving target.

Check out slam range.

Try it Glacius. I bet its up to 256 units range on live too. I told you above how to test that. The micro strafe trick helps to prevent large distance changes.
