i am an former daoc player(five years of albion friar/reaver/minstrel/cabby as mains, mostly the first two.

I discovered this server four week or so ago.
I decided i wanne try something else then albion.
I always played hybrids so far in every mmorpg i played.

So far i have a
23 thane 24 shaman
41 valewalker 36 hero 14 animist 12 ranger

I had fun, alot of it in hib. The valewalker is nice. I found groups easy till 35 but since then i hit a brick wall.
I never played a tank so for my first(and probably last) ever i went for a luree shield/pierc tank(already mob3 and aug dex 1)
I also have a hard time finding people willing to craft armor for me, i need first try since i cant afford more.

What i need advice on is what char to persue. and how to find crafters.
Also advice on the hero would be welcome to. i can survive rather well but my damage aint really good(which is normal).

My biggest concern is that i like thane/valewalker char the most but not sure if people will want me. I view both in the same way. stay back with support. assit a bit with casting and when somebody goes for the support defende our support and stop/snare/kill the ones going for the support.

For my hero i had 50 shield 50 pierc 28 parry in mind. would something along the lines of 42 shield decent pierce 50 celtic spear/large weapons rest parry be better?

I like the shaman on paper but in theory i miss styles. the dots buff disease roots are all fun but when something gets to me i want to style

I like the ranger, had one on pvp server but way to many of them so gonne leave that one alone.

Anyway i am rambling. Any advice on the things i asked are welcome as are any arguments on why i should stick with which char.(i wanne stick to one till i am 50 and get some rps. then we can talk about the others)

VW is not a bad class imo. Continue on it if you enjoy the playstyle.

But if 1.65 and OF RAs kicks in it will be close to worthless though.

Why ? cause purge will be on a 30 min timer and vw has stun from 2 positions?

I dont know hib comunity, i hope u will find crafters, just use /broad to search them, ppl will always grp more classes like: hero,bm chanter eld i gues .. then valew champ .

VW is nice. if you want to play a hybrid, VW and reaver are probably your best bets. thane won't get you groups

as for finding crafters, there's really no magic words there. get into a guild or make some friends. I really just used DF stuff till 49 cause I couldn't bother with spamming /broad for someone to craft me a suit. it ain't all that bad.
