I know most people would like another zone to explorer, for loot and something new, then classic zones. And since we are based on an idea that SI is still classic, it only makes sense to fully implement it, including the zones and loot. But the problem is how much work it takes and how busy the staff is alrdy with bugs and so on. So i thought, why cant some of the community volentarly help out with the server attempt at implmeneting the SI zones.

I think the staff should give us some info on what all they have done, if anything is started and let us know what we can do, to contribute to this project. Like if some of the SI zones need to be logged for like mob locations. Ive done that before, for tiv in the housing zones and its not that hard, just need to create a speed class and watch out for mobs. And i do know you can still run a logging app on live, as i did back when getting info on a bug. Or they can also let us know what loot info they need looked up or anything the community can work on, and then subject. Now it will take time, but if you never start, it will never get anywhere. And i know uthgard is trying to fix all bugs before moving onto SI, but there will allwes be bugs that need to be fixed, so its ether decide not to go with SI or find away to get something started. Im sure if the staff lets us know what we can do, and how to do it, that will help the best. Im sure there is some players that will like to help out. Its a free server, and im sure there is many members that would contribute, how ever they can. Also a good way to get better communications and relationship with uthgards community, as discussed in that thread about such topic.

This is just an idea, and i thought id share it.

First of all glad that people wanna help and support so I will make a list of things im 99% sure is needed and that will help speed up the process when staff begins on SI..

however do not get too high hopes - there is a LOT of bugs that needs to be fixed before work on SI can be started.. however here is a list:

footage of all NPCs + SS of merchant sales window
list + evidence of all special mobs (spell mobs, styling mobs, patrols, etc)
    locs on the horse routes
    logs of factions
    logs on respawn timers
    evidence of mob levels

all of these things will be very helpful when it comes to creating the SI lands, however as said before - giving we (the staff) have all this info doesn't assure that SI lands will come in the near future

What kinda of evidence do you need for mob levels? We talking about getting a charm class and charming monsters to determine level and then SS all of them? This method would provide evidence but the amount of SS would not be very compact or efficient way to show levels.

The other thing is SI mobs have a random loot generator I thought. Will this be able to be implemented?

would running a logger, that collects data that is sent to the client , running on live, provide mob levels and so on , if someone runs around SI zones to collect info, like mob locations and so on, or would it not show mob levels.

I would love SI on the server, but anything more than SI and I'd leave faster than a Pole dancer when she spots an empty wallet.

When Uthgard started it was with SI zones.
I remember mobs and horse routes where logged but there was no correct loot table.

I leveled my playerchar in Avalon City ;)

Confirmed.

I like the idea of an open community project, but as correctly stated above, there are so many things left to do in the classic zones, that you wouldn't really profit of the SI regions. It's not just creating hundreds of mobs.

Just curious, what is left to do? The rest of the quests ? I think the whole server would gladly put those off in favor of SI zones + loots. Quests were never a DAOC strong point anyways.

Theres still lot to do mob wise. They are not linked. Spawn areas not working. No scouting mobs. Paths missing everywhere. No grouped mobs wandering around. Classic mobs still missing spells here and there. They don't yell for help.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

Some PvE fluff is nice, but RvR is where daoc is. And i still think SI zone with loot would be more rewording in the long run, then some PvE fluff that has no effect on rvr. Not that it shouldnt be done, but i think the SI zones loot would be more rewarding. The PvE fluff may draw some people to the server, or they can go play on some wow shards since PvE in that game is alot better, while rvr is better in daoc.
