Midgard players don´t just simply play Daoc - we play Daoc to riun the game for Alb and Hib

RvR is what happens while you are here complaining

Thuerg RR5 on live stuns through charge actually. Its one of the few "direct" counters to it on live.

:P Wouldve played, wouldve known probably.

But hey, who am i talking to here? Keep thinking that charge is a i-win-button against casters, i like this idea. Ive got no problems with your playstyle abilities or RAs, daoc IS the most complex games ive ever seen, and thats the main reason for me to play it.

Many combinations, lots of varience, and this is overlayed by a random-generator. Thats the best designed game ive ever seen, and therefore it also has many more possibilities to play than one might think it does. Thats the fun, because no matter how long you play this game, you gradually have the chance to see something new to yourself every single day.

Good luck with discussing the overpowerdness of a strong ability that can be countered in many more ways that were not mentioned in this topic yet. And yes, castresistchance in rvr is above 85%!!! You have to spam any spell nonstop about 5 times to land in once.

I've tested almost everything about this RA and I'm pretty sure it didn't work against a charged target. Same as ST and cleric RR5.

Check logs or test again. Ive seen theurgs stopping ATs with rr5 more than enough time(ok, noone guarantees that those ATs were always charged, but theurg rr5 sometimes even stopped ATs for longer than red mezz.

On live, currently, thuergist RR5 stuns charged targets, go test, this is a common source of QQ for charge tanks on live atm.

Theurgist

- Charge no longer negates the Minion Rescue stun cast by pets summoned by Minion Rescue.

This is 1.99 change. Not surprising I had different results about a year ago.

Keep thinking that NF RAs with classic DAoC = balanced...

wow. broken rr5 or not.... what does it matter really???

seriously?

the whole point is that charge (not just agaist thergis) is more than a tiny bit unballanced. I agree this is an amazingly complex game, and that ballancing is not a task to be taken lightly. As a matter of fact, if memory serves me, the caster vs tank ballencing-battle has been going on pretty much since release. The reason is quite simple really. Casters are designed to kill stuff before it gets to them. Melees are designed to kill stuff once you've gotten to it.

See, I'm not advocating the removal of charge entirely because even an average sorc or air therg, (or any other caster with 2 forms of cc) would absolutely rape every solo melee he ran into. This TOO is imballanced.

Perhaps changing the mechanic of charge such that it breaks upon:
a) entering into melee combat
b) doing actual melee dmg (must pop caster bubble)
c) 3-5 seconds after entering melee combat.

This would enable a caster to at least TRY to do something now that the melee is smack-ass-on-top of him.

As it stands in its current implimentation, charge is litterally an IWIN button vs a (solo) caster. Once you've started charge, your ONLY job is to not utterly mess up (i.e. run the opposite dirrection, jump off a tall building, do nothing etc) Assuming the melee is even basically familiar with the various melee styles available to him, once he has charged, the caster is done. dead. do not pass go, do not collect $200. please insert quarter. f-ing dead.

As previously stated, I DONT support the removal of charge. I would win every solo fight every time, and this is neither fun nor challenging. i DO however, think it needs to be looked at a second, third, fourth, or eleventeenth time UNTIL the balance (aka 50% success rate) between casters and tanks is achieved.

Until that point, Melee > caster.

As we all know, neither the original daoc devs, nor the Uthgard staff desire such a clear-cut definition of power. Balance = growth. Imballance = slow, painful death..... If you dont believe me, ask any Mordred player what happened to the pvp server once Vampir's came about.

Ah, Zarkor with his offtopic flames again.

NF RAs without TOA are an imbalance, and ive never ever said something to oppose it. The question is: Is there a counter to charge?
My answer is: There are many counters to charge, just use your brain!
Your answer is: NF RAs with classic DAoC are imbalanced.

The difference between TOA and Classic is, that without TOA you have 3 less abilities to counter charge, but there are still many others to do so. What does castspeed% or castdmg% or resistpierce give you, when the tank actually reaches you and starts hitting?
Trimming charge for classic balance is a good idea, but in that case, trim purge3, viper3 and moc3 aswell. In that case, it would be much better to just use OF-RAs. But these discussions are completely offtopic.

The same way you use your brain to counter common sense ? oO

Everything you listed is not a counter. They're theoretical, very isolated and probably never gonna happen situations.

Never?
It didnt only work in agramon(where i actually soloed with my casters a little) but also works in wilton with even yellow speed, HAHA!!
No wonder, if you keep spamming posts on forums with 15+ posts per day, you dont really have any time to play this game.

Might not work for you, but works for me.
