Casual grps is never gonna be as good as a setgrp of players who play together all the time, is the same for everything not just daoc.

Set groups don't exist on uthgard. Only one that did was anguish.

True, but realm imbalances and experienced groups do exist. Fighting better organised groups with equal balance is very tough already. Add a realm imbalance to that and it becomes impossible, but that's another discussion.

funy how things change, the past weeks hibernia raised.

they key to get stronger as a realm is to have a large number of players partizipating the end-game. in the past in hibernia those numbers where missed. a few days i saw a good excample how hibernia has been in the past. we had 4 groups of hibs in emain all where runing seperately but the density was to big and enemy group that showed up got attacked by multiple groups (or so called zerg, adders). 3 hib groups where random groups while one was a regular group of high RR's. at some point the albs and mids started to gather together and formed a army. while in hibernia the high RR groups started to ask other groups to not add "their" fights and start fighting each other about who is allowed to attack what enemy. in the end it turned out into following situation:

1 hib regular group fighting a regular group of albs at amg, 1 hib-pug group added into that fight...the hib regulars pulled out of combat and the pug wiped hardly on those high RR albs while the other hib group watched em die. in the end they let all the pugs die to that core group. those groups released and never came back to emain. all those groups splited up (guess they loged their twinks or whatever). 10 minutes later the mids overran the remaining regular group. another 10 mins later no more hib group in emain showed up. it toke like 1 hour to build up a new emain group and when it was ready all albs and mids where gone.

i understand that 8vs8 is fun, but when groups start to fight each other about who shall attack what enemy and when strong groups do not suport the weak ones there will be never a vital number of players in rvr. that mentality exists in all 3 realms and it makes many players not enjoy the rvr and rather twink. in my view the whole issue begins with the non-adder mentality. i hope players start to change their mind and welcome any help (adding) from realm-mates they can get. in the long term, the server needs a zerg in each realm to even allow a vital 8vs8 comunity. at current state that comunity is trying to hinder any building of a zerg-like situation while at same time complaining about not enough action in rvr. i hope at some point that 8men comunity will realise how much they could benefit themself if they would change their mind.

realm balance is not a issue on this server there are enough players in every realm and the numbers are close to equal. there is no easymod realm. there are classes that are easier to play than others but at overal realms are good as their are.

Zerging is not a bad thing. Zerging sometimes causes a realm that got run over 3fgs to their 1fg... to go over /broadcast and bring more numbers.

Next thing you know its a 24 vs 26 awesome massive fight at a milegate.




Or like tonight, the groups form a BG after clearing emain and go bang on relic keeps, get all the way to the lord before wiping.

Ultimately, it's' RvR not 8v8 or 1v1. This isn't counterstrike. The end.

I like how people keep saying hib got 'stronger' over the past few days. There's just more ppl rvr'ing and there's less good enemy groups out so they get the notion they're better.

Yes sad but true.

Hasn't changed anything on hib.

Only some more hibs in rvr cause we got some relics...

And enemy groups seem a bit weaker atm. Thats all

well, the resist reduce and the lowered delay after interrupt did change a lot for casters... guess it took a while for some people to notice. :wink:

Nice fights the last days, especially yesterday against schattenblatt 2 fgs. :grin:

Few 8vs8 without an add, (and no, we never asked mids for help or add)... but funny fights anyway. :wink:

but on another topic, the fix for all this QQing is pretty easy. someone convince nayru we got enough population for a lvl 20 bg and /rp off command now :)
