Realm Balance... Let's Get Down to It

oh rly, had never recognized this without your help.
Even if you look up till the 6th page of lwrp. the rate still looks like 2:1,5:1 (m:a:h) |

Hibs usually have at least 1 fg in emain. The problem is that that fg is a fg of stealthers, so instead of trying to kill groups, they gank solos and smallman aswell as add at everything they see.
I did not log in today, because, yes, there are days when im busy with other stuff, but last days rvr looked following: Albs get 1 fg that runs for several hours. Mids get 2+ fgs that dont run sticked, at first at least, but add each other on sight, so albs get fed up with nonstop ganking and logg off at some point. Short time later another albgroup starts running and same happens. Closer to the evening, mids have 3-4 FGs roaming emain, but not sticked yet. A while later, hibzerg, mostly consisting of 2 hibgroups rolls in emain and kills 1 midgroup. Next inc mids come with 3+ groups sticked and hibs do not come back. Sometimes later albs eventually muster another random group that runs out and get ganked by adds. Mids have fun killing, all others are frustrated because they were barely able to land 2-3 kills. During this whole time 1 fg hibstealther moves around emain looking for fights to add and solos to gank. I wont comment on how it was on live, because i suppose everyone knows that it was a bit different. |

yep, thats how it looks like since some weeks (months?), Satz.

hope that the staff will do something for hib... All realms need hibs...
Old RAs would be helping a lot.
why would old RAs help hib?
Probably because of the biggest damn whine in DAoC history, NERF GROUP PURGE. Once it was gone all the whiners said Hib was doomed but they ended up becoming the dominant realm for years. |

i have played uthgard mid for almost 3 years. i watch the statstics quite a bit and its very even here, almost the most balanced server there ever was. some realms have thier bad months, this is true anywhere. this stats page pretty much sums it up. it fluctuates mildly to any one realm, but ive never seen it be a game breaking difference.

Log out, roll hib, get your lvl50 nonstealther up, and try to do some RvR with it. After two weeks of trying you will experience the game breaking difference you have never seen before as a mid. |

hibs are struggling at the moment.. ignore the lwrp chart thing - doesn't really give a accurate picture as it counts all rp and all time.
At primetime hibs are really struggling, usually 1 grp out vs the 2-3 alb grps and the 4-5 mid grps.. and even then the hibs struggle to fill that grp, the amount of the time that people are looking for hib classes on irc etc is just crazy The amount of active lvl 50 rvr (grp) players is much lower on hib than alb/mid. |
was on irc spamming looking for a druid for erm, way over half an hour. at this point there were 0 other hib groups out.
bang on. kinda hoping AE the american guild get a bit more active here, had some groups with them and really enjoyed it. |

more ppl like rasta for hib and everything is fine <3

There are so many reasons that if I list them here, I sure forget one or two, so I'm just gonna point out the positive effects in context to this topic: old RAs make Midgard weaker as with new RAs, thus even the fvcked up realm balance out. Hibs and Albs get their strong unique RAs (GP / SoS+BoF), besides that the realm rank in general isn't as important as with new RAs, as you get the essential RAs at rr5~6 and get nice but not exorbitant op'ed RAs above that. Still the main reason is: people who played in 2002~2003 know that there's something wrong on Uth in terms of RvR-balance thanks to RAs. Midgard was never a weak realm back then, but you stood a chance as a low~medium ranked Hib or Alb group against a Mid group of similar playerskill, while today Mid groups tend to be dominating even if you can see some of them playing slower, worse and less coordinated than some Hib or Alb groups. DG is maybe the best example for that. A lot of people think that Hibernias underdog status is just related to less players in Hib, but that's not the whole truth. You should ask yourself why there are less RvR-players in Hib with each day that passes by. In Dec 2009 there was an overplus of Hib groups, like 4 of 5 at least. While I can only speak for my own group here, there has been for sure also issues in RvR balance that led to todays Hibernian underdog status, because out of that 5 groups merely 1 or 2 remained until now. And this underpopulation is not gonna change by itself, if not out of nowhere 3 or more fresh and decently played Hib groups start on Uth who don't care about losing to worse played Mid groups. It's rather going to change when the RvR preconditions are getting balanced. Another thing that proves my point here: Guilds like Anguis couldn't manage to switch completely to Hib or Alb, with excuses like "not everyone of us wanted to play hib" - what a surprise. Playing on Hib/Alb would expose some people as the mediocre bunch of players with a really good pac healer they are. (Yeah, I'm not a fan of them, but it's nothing personal so get over it~) Why ToA-RAs advance high RR groups more than old RAs do:
