This is a subject that was discused and blamed for so much time on Live, and finally it has been fixed, when are we going to have a change about it here on Uthgard? because 1 caster standing after a door pbaoeing and kiling 20 ppl from the other side is not really the best a game could provide, combined with the fact that if you are on a ram and u get hit YOU FALL DOWN , makes u unable to break a door with ram .

I would like an answer if posible.

You should not be able to pbaoe trough doors, it has been fixed with a patch long before 1.80. It's a wall in your face, u cant hit me if i m on the other side..capisci?

why open a new topic? please use forum search.

From the physical point of view, it makes sense that pbae go through walls since it is eletromagnetic radiation not matter.

rofl. Then my microwave do pbaoe and is sup sm XDD

On topic.
In my opinion this is good. Without this, deffenders only can stay inside keep and wait while enemies destroy the gate. Now we have not oil for deffend gates, then pbaoe should work through walls.

Not all PBAoE spells are electromagnetic radiation.

Someone should change spell descriptions. Perhaps change fire and cold based PBAoEs to EMR

however...in OF you could PBAE through doors and walls.

like it or not..its correct that way.
if you dont like it give us back NF (or at least NF keeps with the chance to defend a keep with oil.
because as it is pointed out..without PBAE through ddors walls keeps are undefendable.

We are still playing til patch 1.80 , old frontiers gave us emain only as a fighting scenario and so on we have RA s from NF etc.
I dont care about discusions like why should it not hit trough walls, on live it was a bug that got solved so pbaoe could not hit trough walls etc, end of story.
When Agramon map was on pbaoe hited trough doors and walls also ..so just dont..

I dont want to use forum search , i made a new topic about this important and big issue , i could say it was nr 1 in top 10 of the issues on Live and it got solved in the end, while here it didnt.
I dont care about physical point of view , if its like that i should be able to smack down a player that stays after a wooden door pbaoe ing, with my 2h hammer right? but i cant .

Sorry, but can't remmeber it ever being a big issue on life. It was just one of those annoying things you had to deal with during sieges, similar to oil in NF. But short range and falloff of pbae, as well as limited power supply even with good power RAs was making it managable, so players just dealt with it. Pbae, gtae, or simply stepping out of range for a while should all work, as should having good buffs and healers for those on the ram.

The only real problem I remember in this context would be Banshees with their longer range cone ae dds, and fortunately we don't have those here.

However, getting dropped from the ram when taking damage like you discribe is definitly completely wrong, and should be fixed if this is currently the case.

This is by far the best real world rationalization for DAoC mechanics since dark matter arrows and volley.
