Thinking about getting a netbook for studying but would like it to run daoc if poss , does anyone run on a netbook and if so which one ?

look at the specs of the netbook and compare [brainon]

i think on 1,6ghz + , 2gb ram and a intel gma it should work properly

I doubt any netbooks can run DAoC.
Some laptops can't run it.

it runs on my 5year old laptop

specs:
Prozessor - Intel Pentium M750 (1.86GHz) (Centrino)
Display - 35,8cm SXGA+ TFT Display (14,1" 1400x1050)
Festplatte - 40GB
Grafikkarte - Ati Radeon X300 (64MB dedicated)
RAM - 1024MB
Betriebsystem - Windows XP

to run properly, daoc must be set to lowest possible settings:
800x600
no shadows
old chars
simple trees

and still porting into jordheim will take some minutes (maybe 5) to load...
on entering a zone you must turn around a few times to be able to move halfway normally...
on fg inc, it takes too long to load to react on time...

conclusion: must have better specs than this...

I know several players playing on netbooks, so should not be a problem as long as that netbook exceeds in graphical performance.

PS. Daoc runs on 10 years old PCs aswell

Well i think the issue here is Running daoc and actualy Playing it. Two tottaly different subjects when it comes to daoc. Tho i sopose one can spend hes time crafting and mby even soloing with lower then average spec.
