Longtime DAOC player, first time on Uthgard!

I am in the midst of downloading the DR client to begin my installation, and have been skimming through the forums on the exact way to setup and play my account. I have found mostly what I need, but I also have a few questions just to make sure everything goes smoothly.

1.) Are the setup guides and tutorials I have seen up to date? Eg. This one for getting started - http://uthgard-server.net/modules.php?n ... ic&t=10328 and this one for installing patches - http://uthgard-server.net/modules.php?n ... ic&t=11908 the patch post is hard to follow because the screen caps aren't working.

2.) Are there any patches that need to be installed before I being to play? And if so, do I install them using DAoC Portal?

3. Where can I find more info on using DAoC Portal? This program is totally new to me.

2. no, however you might want to install the crafter mod and the classic mod before starting as those are needed to craft SC/alch + to go to the rvr zone
