no need for a change like this imho, just make it impossible to stealth within enemy homelands, would be fun to hunt down an occasional invader creating havoc imho

Its a good custom change. Homelands should be 100% safe areas. (And theres probably alot of problems if groups start to farm items etc in other realms for twink temps.)

If you want to gank grays, go df. If you want rvr, go bgs/OF.

Cheers to that, besides the grey killing, skip that if possible, so annoying

2-3 chars with ichor for guards (yes, it always works!) and one char with SOS and you can sprint through if there is no deadzone

As bard you are able to get aggro of the guards, pull them away with sprinting, and sprint back to gate while guards just walking very slowly back to their position after loosing aggro.
So you are able to enter enemy homeland just solo, or if you want i think you can do it even with fg (only did that solo ;D).
So in my opinion it´s a necassary costum change!

This would work if there weren't those nasty mages on top of the keep.

In my opinion it would be as useful as this "kill zone" but much more stylish if those mages would cast bolts with 750 AoE-Damage with a HUGE explosion effect.

All people complaining about a "zone of death" in the border keeps should delete all chars and start leveling again, hoping to witness the sheer fun of being ganked in homeland by a toon that is 30 lvls higher.
Why ToA-RAs advance high RR groups more than old RAs do:

Well, i hope its not my fault amongst others for implementing this death trap (i brought this up in noisiv's thread). :p

Indeed, theres no explicit rule against invasion as long as it isnt made possible by pure bug abuse, but the problem is, home realms have been declared as safe zones since day one of DAoC history, so you could say invasion is not wanted, thus the custom change is ok in my opinion. After all you cant expect xping gamers to expect an ambush in mularn or mag mell all the time ("i always expect an ambush").

As you may have noticed there is now a "zone of death" in the border keeps to prevent people from entering the homezones of the realms. It explains the screenshot.

Thats a custom change on Uthgard, correct.

Camulos

I have to add that this is a declared workaround until guards are setup correctly. It should be the way live handles it. First things are that door mechanics are propably bugged and guards not strong enough.

I'm not a friend of these death zones as they give no explanation why you died and are custom changes.

You shouldn't be able to open the enemies gate, you have to wait until an enemy opens it for you.

And then? I've read reports that players on live were able to use a bug to get around the frontier keeps and enter the enemy homeland. I've read a report that a player found a bughole in the frontier and was moved to the enemy homeland.

I've yet to see a report where a zerg stormed through the enemy frontier keep into the homeland.

I suspect there was some kind of invisible wall, but one thing is for sure: You are not meant to get into the enemy homeland, not by using bugs nor by using tactics (RAs, abilities, huge player count). If you want home invasion, play on a PvP server.

this is the fact that changes it all

this is what would prevent any number of enemies to get into the enemies homeland

what (sorry) stupid enemy would open the 2nd gate and let an enemy enter his own homeland when he could not and get some easy rps due to guards help?

Same applies to TK's as well. Door mechanic for TK's is bugged too.
