Just starting, ive narrowed down my class to either a troll shaman or a kobold hunter. opinions on either? Id definatley consider a melee hunter. If anyone has any builds for either classes, love to see em

Troll Shaman: No! Nonono! Do a Kobold or Frostalf Shaman.
Kobold has higher dex = faster casting.
Frostalf has higher piety = more concentration, more mana, slightly better spells.
Troll has highest strength = slightly more melee damage, which is not needed as a shaman. Very slow casting speed.
As a buffspec shaman you will have no problems in getting a rvr group.

If you want to do a hunter, every race is okay except frostalf. But Hunters are a less powerful stealthers than shadowblades, due to the fact that shadowblades can poison their weapon. Proc's on bows dont work. The hunterpet is good for rupting, but doesnt do much damage.
Meleehunters are effective for hunting other assasins though, when they have MoS4 and are grouped with a healer. But they are hard to play in 1vs1 and are by far not as effective as other classes in 8vs8.

You can use 2 hander, but normally people go with dual wield unless you have a healer with celerity to cap swing speed. As for a spec 50 weap 50 LA rest parry, i think its 28...?

You can use a twohander, but in the left axe line you have the better styles.

2h spec is not good >.> use LA and go hammer for your weapon spec (important snare styles plus splits about 2/3 of your damage into crush type.) 50 LA, 50 hammer, 28 parry is the norm. I wouldn't advise you roll a hunter, some people play them but its kind of a weak class. Shaman is good, but its very important you go kobold for increased dex and small character model helps for shaman.

if you want to play your hunter..

play it with high beastcraft..there are NICE pets that heal/buff you and your group or assist you with damage. with such a pet farming nameds is no problem (i do WoW´s and malmohus nameds alone, except yar and dragon of course).

spec it 40 or 45 Bow to get volley (GTAE).
this is one of the thoughest abillitys when your realm is gona raid relics/keeps and can be even more powerfull if more hunter assist at same GT at same time..

but as some said..many dont like hunters, you will be left out often. but dont worry...go your way.
