the guard tasks could use a boost imo.
with lvl 46 i get just as much rp for taking the quest, porting, walking for 15 mins from keep to keep and killing 20 guards as i get from one or two random kills in thid made in 15-45 seconds. on 46 3L6 i did the last guard task, gave me 1050 rp. thats 7% rp needed to get 3L7. really quite low for the effort and time. also raiding a keep gives you some rp, but again, its pretty dismal for the effort. guard are a lot tougher then players. granting some rp for them, even if its just 100, less then i would get from killing a green 1L1-1L2, would help during the there-is-nothing-going-on-here times. i think that that would keep me in the rvr areas while i otherwise would just log of and do something else. and that might be for others too. if you stay in an rvr zone a long time, you see folks running around for up to half an hour, find nothing to do and log of. 5 minutes later another realm comes along because they heard that there was something cruising around. so now they run for a while and then log on. if you dont find inc, you log out. if you log out, the other ppl logged in wont find inc either. the only issue i see with rp giving guards is that the assasin classes benefit the most since they can actually get IN the keeps and can kill all the guards, not just the ones outside due to climb walls. on the other hand, the realm owning the keep will get notice and eventually find the assasin. which would be worth a lot more then guards. well just a mind game anyway. |

Never ! Pve and Pvp are different kind of playing.Farming is boring,and pvp is a challenge.But you have to think of casual players too.They have no team to rules in RvR and don't have other choice to fight in unbalanced war to progress.As tell BlackCougar,what to do when nothing to kill?Boring roaming for hours ?I don't know why getting something like 20/30rp by killing mobs in DF will kill RvR!Mostly in RvR dungeon.This is only a way to progress (slowly) for people that don't have abilities to progress in rvr.As players prefer solo kill to get more rp,they will prefer pvp to pve,and go pve if no pvp available.That will atract more players in DF too,so more fight in rvr zone to open DF and more pvp fights in DF.Not only stealthers war... And about named mobs,they are a challenge because they are thought,and can't be farmed for RP because of respawn delay.Getting something like 1000rp for killing Moran each 20min, for example,split by number of people in grp,will not make you 10R in a week!So this is a bonus ,no a way to progress(or really really slowly). This kind of change just fear the high RR because if it happens they will fight more ennemies of their RR and it sounds like end of their easy mode zerging.(cf Anguish) |

Are you kidding? Uthgard is casual friendly more than enough.
Your ideas spoil up the idea of DAoC. You can get 4L2 in no time in Thidranki. I still dont see why there are people with lower RR out without having a fixed grp. You get the most most important RAs. It was a huge pain when we ran the last weeks with several rr2-3s just because someone failed with /xp off. Yeah RR10 PvE players without a clue how to play will be the nightmare of all high rr grps <img src="http://herald.uthgard-server.net/daoc/sig.php?name=Bix&s=7">

Dude... that was a joke because you tend to create quite bizzare topics like flames about polearms dual-wielding minstrels. So with a bit of thinking an experienced member of this forum could recognize my posting as a reference to that and construct from that my opinion towards the topic. As many people said before: DAoC is an RvR-game. Therefore it is simply bizarre - or a Krinton3-joke On the other hand... making RPs gainable in PvE would be fair if drops would be gainable in RvR. |

i wouldnt say 4L2 in "no time".
it takes quite long. really, really long actually. my record for bg rp is 13k rp. that is a day, not an evening. 7k is the average. i wish hibs would zerg more... running with 8 ppl against 16+ all night doesnt really do the rp any good. |

I wonder what you were doing. It took a week with my Enchanter running maybe 1h on a daily basis - and i wished it wouldnt been that fast. There are people asking for /rp off command because of this in other threads! It took maybe 3 Days (playing less than 2h a day) with my Druid (starting with 2L2) getting to 4L0 doing totally random rvr or solo. A friend did 4L2 mostly solo with his BM from scratch in one day. I think it would be even faster running duo or trio with a friend playing Supporter and a Speeder. I wish the RPs/hour ratio would be the same in real rvr - at least for my gimped grp <img src="http://herald.uthgard-server.net/daoc/sig.php?name=Bix&s=7">

The ONLY thing this would cause is just more people PvEing in places unrelated to the commonly used RvR zone. Hence, LESS players to RvR with or against.
Something like improved mob spawns in Emain/Odins/Hadrians, possibly with some fancy loot or w/e would be a way better incentive to get more people there. |

For me the key point is that DAoC is the only RvR game I know, quite the most interesting point of that game, and that no RvR is really existing as only GvG is promotted.
No gain to gather all you realm forces to keep a castle typically. What is really fun in that games is big defending vs attacking on battleground. In that sense, NF had quite good point to promote RvR even if some disadvantages also. But imo, OF is really GvG oriented, so just lost what makes DAoC unique in mmorpg's world. So, really look forward to go to RvR, but really quite fast bored to be zerg by 7L+ opti groups who just have nothing else to do than zerg with no fun finally |

Getting rps for df mobs is bizarre, getting ALOT of of rps for guards would just be annoying, imagine two group from different realms avoiding fighting each other and just farming guards at different keeps...
I think rvr tasks are good though and a rp and xp boost for the guard tasks for players under RR5 would bring more lowRR 40+ players to unused rvr zones and more gankers small groups and keeps fights etc. |

At all respect: I do not share your opinion and still think that you got it wrong, simply because of the fact that I know that I did not want to provocate but to express my astonishment about the topic starter's posting using the rhetoric figure of irony. This just as some explanation hoping that you accept it. I also would like to apologize for my direct attack into your direction which indeed was not necessary.
