A month of OF RvR...

That is what I would prefer. If you are immune on your horse there is almost no difference to a delayed teleportation aka a teleport ceremony. Which btw brings me on something helpful. Let's have a look at the Patch Notes of Patch 1.67: "The portal ceremonies at the border keeps have been altered slightly, to assist players who forget their necklaces from time to time. A new, earlier port has been added during the period where the teleporters previously stood around and waited for players to get ready. After the master and lackeys cast this new teleport, they will wait on the teleport pad and then cast the ceremony a second time." I think it is a good idea to introduce this. If I remember correctly the second teleportation was 30 seconds after the first one. So here we could do it like: 1st teleportation at 7:30, 2nd teleportation at 8:00. This should fix a lot of issues with amulets and waiting. Last edited by Der_Eisbaer on Dec 15, 2009 16:13, edited 1 time in total.

Or just lower the port timer in general, since horses are speeding up the time to get into the primary zones for the home realm players.
You can still add a 2nd port to that nonetheless. |

I really like all of the suggestions Blue has provided/agreed too, with one minor remark:
I believe it would be much better (maybe even easier to implement?) to just have the bonus in Odins instead of it moving from Odins to Emain, at least in the beginning. Emain is already and will always be established, and even with these changes we won't get improvements immediately, so I think it's really important to focus first on making just one zone a solo hotspot. The hourse routes are also good idea, and I have no problem with players being attackable while on horse. And of course thank you very much Blue for having the good will to work with us on this. |

When i said about horse route from DL to Emain, i mean that route finish should stay near Emain´s entrance, no in the midle of Emain. Or near Emain entrance but in berlfine. |

I believe this is what we all meant. FIX TEH PROFILE PAGE SO I CAN CHANGE MY SIG PLZ

I love all the ideas with one concern: a horse route is very easily camped, and whichever realm ends up as the "home" realm to the zone that ends up with solo action will have its player extremely susceptible to route/dropoff camping. Opposing assassins could theoretically camp mid-route and have perf/cd chains handed to them, making getting to the RvR zone difficult for the home realm. If that is that case, a lot of them may choose to run, but doesn't that defeat the purpose?
I know the teleport option doesn't seem to heavily favored, but I think it would be better for that reason. Three teleport destinations in the secondary frontier zone (the three keeps FARTHEST from that realms primary zone) of each realm would cut run time by a few minutes, and make it more difficult to camp a potential hotspot. |

About camp horses routes. When horses routes were implemented in agramon, all said the same, all stealthers will camp stable and route. No one stealther did it. Why will happen this now???
|
|
You forget the "home" realm's own assassins which have nice opportunity here to hunt down the enemy's assassins. I mean it is the "home" realm's duty to keep its frontiers clean so this should be ok. |
|
Because you could still port into the camp/tower which was further in than the horse route, and as a result the horses were rarely used.
Which do you suppose is easier... trying to kill someone coming straight at you on a fixed line, or trying to find a stealther who could be anywhere on a path of hundreds of thousands of units? |
|
Horse route camping would be intended. You are in a RvR zone and finding enemies is your goal. You can unmount at any point if you expect enemies. Its not really different to run by "hand".
Please forget instant porters like we had in Agramon. They will not come. This is indiscussable. Last edited by Blue on Dec 15, 2009 17:50, edited 1 time in total.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
Every bug gets fixed. Sooner or later. "It is an inescapable law of nature that the amount of satisfaction one gains from achieving something is related to how hard it is and easy things can only elicit a fleeting superficial sort of pleasure." Blue says, "you used macro tools or macro keyboard" Pala says, "i am disabled. and i have a mechanic left hand that can be programed. its hard to play woith one hand" [Appeal] Bxxxxxxxx: "why is RA first aid cann man i stealth use and not unstealth cann man ra if man use unstealth ?????????" BannedUser: "i was not using automate game action my hand was fall on keyboard during i was sleep .... i was completly fall on keyboard ..." |

Which do you suppose is easier... trying to kill someone that you know of being somewhere along a fixed line or trying to find a stealther that could be anywhere, for example anywhere in DF? |
|
So if horse route camping is intended, and horse route camping becomes a reality, and people don't use the horses for that reason, what exactly have you accomplished by implementing them?
|
|
Well, you have accomplished three things:
1.) Faster access to RvR (if you don't get camped that is, but hey, even that's RvR 2.) More chance of finding realm enemies (campers) 3.) People riding out together because of campers, which is very cool from a realm roleplaying perspective Now I may be wrong and this may turn out to be a problem, but so is camping Hib keep when they run out, and I haven't seen an overwhelming ammount of whines about that. |

Before ports to agramon we only had horse routes and no one camped them. |
