Yes, i prefer try kill something, than wait for nothing.

As i said XD like donkeys (y no te ofendas). Dont ofend pls.

Yes better kill something and be wiped by zerg than if all soloers go to hadrians or odins, where they can enjoy playing and do rps.

Still with your mentality "better something than nothing" than try something new, and you ever will lose.

See your marked statement. How would you know?? The majority of the population ALWAYS has some problem here and there. This is absolutely normal and will be in every setting we create.

I wonder why here permanently the population issue pops up when there is already too much zerging for some players. If we have 1000 players in OF I'm not sure whether this would fit better than 200 players in OF. Not to speak from 3000 players who try to pass the AMG. A better model would be to have different timeframes / locations for different gameplays. Goal is to provide US players with RvR activity too. Solo/Small RvR could develop out of it.

And I beg you Zarkor, make shorter postings. I don't have the time to read through all your wall of texts. Stay objective and don't blame the staff.

There are 3 main issues with the current implementation of OF.

1. Keeps are too hard to defend properly due to the lack of warning to the defending realm. A realm-wide message about the attack should solve this. Of course the guild who claimed it will recieve the additional information.

2. Porting to capitals and housing is unnecessarily linked to the porting timers. Please put a separate porter at the border keeps, similar to the ones in capitals and housing itself. A BP merchant in border keeps would be most welcome too.

3. [Most important issue!] Solo RvR is highly endangered. It has become extremely demotivating to solo or smallman in OF because of the following reasons:
- The time to get into RvR is too long to be worth the effort since there's no speeder class in most cases, not to mention getting there still requires you to wait another 10 minutes to find a worthy opponnet at least.
- There is no zone/area where you can decently solo or smallman, since Emain is too dangerous and Hadrians/Odins are unused.
- Both of the above affect the recharge costs. These have become a way of losing money/BPs and will only make people PvE more to sustain them.

Solutions:
[Part 1:] Reduce the time to reach RvR zones (for everyone!). How?
* Transform 1 keep nearby the primary frontiers to a teleport keep and make porting there possible on a 5 minute timer. Normal ports should also be reduced to 5 minutes. Losing more than 3 keeps will result in not being able to port to the home realm portal keep any longer (explained below*).
* Increase hastener speed from the border keeps to a value of 185 but reduce the timer to 5 minutes. This will prevent going back to the old (demotivating) state for soloers and smallman without speed 5 when the realm does not hold enough keeps anymore.

[Part 2:] Create an incentive for SOLO players to pick a specifc zone outside Hibernia's frontier (Odins OR Hadrians). Since solo and smallman RvR is the only part of the RvR community actually struggling with the high BP costs, an BP increase for ungrouped players might be a 2-in-1 solution. For instance:
* A 50-100% BP increase in Odin's Gate would solve the very high recharge costs and would be a great incentive for soloers to go there, since they are the ones that need BPs the most AND are the only ones that benefit from that solo-specific bonus.

Argumentation: None of these solutions would interfere with the grouped RvR gameplay negatively. In fact, reducing the port timer to 5 minutes would only be welcomed by them (I play both solo and grouped RvR, even though my main focus lies on grouped). Since the BP bonus would only be for ungrouped players, FGs and zergs will stay roaming Emain.

The argument that players need 8 minutes to go to the primary zone would be dismissed with the hastener speed improvements and/or the possibility to port to a portal keep nearby the primary zone (Dun Bolg or Dun Crimthain in Hibernia's case). Missing one keep in every realm's frontier will not harm anything or anyone since keeps themselves do not grant any bonusses besides determing who has DF.

*To prevent abuse of this porting by the home realm to stop relic raids, porting to these new portal keeps could be made impossible when a realm holds 2 or less of their own keeps (keeps located in their frontier). (there are 7 keeps in total, one of them would be transformed into an unraidable portal keep, leaving out 6 normal keeps, whereas losing 4 of them would result in not being able to port).
This system, in combination with realm-wide messages for keep attacks, will also grant a new incentive for players to attack AND defend keeps AND to raid keeps before raiding relics!

PS: I tried my best to keep my post as compact and to the point as possible. However, when providing suggestions, I can not make things shorter than they are.
PPs: I want to offer my apologies for blaming the staff in a former post.

@ Blue
Srry blue to burst your bubble but why should it be forbidden to comment the gm's? (if done in a sensable way)
Comments are nothing more then advices for a better daoc experience.
And thats what we all want.

Btw yes people do complain, its given in their genes, and I find that a good thing, wonder what would have happend to us if the first cave wife didn't complain about the cold and the bad meals, :)

@ vangonaj
don't name call plz, I can understand what you are trying to say, but I find what Ragabbash said quite correct, if you've run around in Odins or hadrians for a few nights you'll soon find out there is hardly anything worth killing there, leading to despair and somewhat dramitcall actions, solo'ing a fg for instance.

@Zarkor
True, the BG would first lead to a decrease but in the end it will lead to a rise in 5L+ players willing to try out there abilities in the frontiers.
What it will do in any scenario is close the gap between those elite groups (that won't allow anyone below 5l0 or even 6l0) and the ones coming out of Thid and otherwise just reroll a char.

[Which happens a lot now, and lets face it, that increasing the rvr a lot ]

In terms of the solo RvR, as I said before its hard to do, but just try to make the best of it, players go to hadrians or odins, and gm's try to promote that or even sponsor that a bit.
(only for a month orso, then the players will keep going on their own, cause there is a know solo hotspot then)

The 'sponsering' could be done in several ways, from rp/bp bonuses to more cash per kill, to even a new rewarding system (maybe the champion system, yeah I know its ToA, but none the less its perhaps a longterm solution to get all those 'winers' of your back :) )

I like your suggestion Zarkor, I'd only emphasize even further that only a SINGLE zone should receive these bonuses, not both, and that a RP bonus would be needed along with the BP bonus.

Yes, definately! A choice has to be made, Hadrians OR Odin's, both would solve nothing.

I'm not quite sure on that RP bonus though, I think staff will be weary about granting RP bonuses to certain playstyles. I believe BP bonusses will grant enough incentive, but on the other hand prevent players from having an 'easier' time getting RPs and thus character improvement.

PS: Thanks for supporting my idea, when I came to think of it, it just seemed to make everything fit.. ^^ I hope others like it too. (Staff included ofc! :P)

It could be something symbolic, like 1-2%, but just seeing the text: "2% RP bonus for solo players" when you type /bonus would provide a huge advertising of the chosen zone as a solo zone.

Yup, true, just like the BPs bonus would be. In any case I think a combination or one of these (symbolic and/or practical) bonuses are needed to point out the right direction to the solo community since it can't really come from the community itself without breaking the rules.

That last bit might be the hardest thing, it seems that staff is a bit reluctant to do any changes asap, listening to players in the forum.
They rather wait a long period till the problem passes (the complaining players has stopped playing here) or has gotten to large to ignore.

Also I know they have it hard to find sufficient staff, but at the same time they are against an international staff for this international server (wont go in further detail, a certain staff member knows what I mean)

Ps.
Not saying that gm's don't do any good job at all
(wouldn't be active ingame or on forum then)

What about rotating a BP bonus on a daily basis between the 3 milegate zones? So everything gets mixed up and the zones get used to be entered.

Without that we would change the gameplay on a weekly basis. This is not intended as players have to get used to certain play styles and most players won't like such changes forth and back in the case a decision was wrong.

I really think only one should be chosen and kept like that. Plus slow ports are a huge issue in solo RvR where every death= release.

Doubtfull, one way or another e-main has and always has been ZvsZ and 8vs8 turf, and I don't think that will change, even whit over all bp bonuses to all changing from zone to zone from time to time

*Actually I don't know why, and I doubt anyone knows a good reason why E-main has become so special ... ?

Why one? Why shouldnt all players go there then? Theres no point to prefer Emain instead of Hadrians. Its just because all are used to go to Emain at the moment. This would suddenly change if Hadrians or Odins have an advantage over Emain. A rotating bonus would destroy this behaviour pattern a bit and the chances may rise that these other zones will see players too.

True, but I ment something else, none the less most changes only happen after 2 to 3months which is a long time in my opinion.

Keeping final decisions within 2 or 3 weeks might improve player involment and the server in total
