May work, problem is that many players are in favor of the we solve it on ower selfs, the 8vs8 mentality is the best proof of it. Most high end elite guilds roam around killing all other groups, spoiling the fun of other realms and of their own realm mates (no-one left to kill) So I really doubt that such a guild, or in general such players will ever make a notice to the rest of the realm, they rather see their keep burn and DF lost then sharing their precious RP and so called honor. Y I'm in favor of not adding as well, but I won't mind to much if we get added, it still is a RvR game, and an adding group mostly doesn't lead to the enemie group logging but most of the time it leads to zerg vs zerg action (with the know lag problems) "The past is what made the present, and is a guide line for the future." Since then, I am the first group and makes for more players to fight them, if they want war the will, unfortunately, for solers no stehats who go through milegate

Yes now we don´t have 1vs1 or smal group rvr in Uthgard. But maybe the problem isn´t OF, are players. In live servers all remember that Emain was zerg map, all soloers and smal group ever went to Hadrians or Odins gate.
Why no one do it now and only QQ about Emain´s fgs? And about stealth zerg in amg, i don´t see any change from Agramon. When we had Agramon, amg ever was camped by 5 alb or hibs, who ganged all soloers. |

Well Uthgards target is to get live like. You cant make the staff responsible for map layouts or players preferred play style. From my point of view I don't want to mess with customization in OF too much. It was expected that AMG will be camped by stealthers as it was on live. Bugs in OF will be fixed, keep/relic system improved, XP spots established. But there will be no easy mode or free lunch.
From the posts here I see the same situation and whine develops as we had in NF Emain and later Agramon. The second mile gate in Agramon was the improvement by Mythic over OF. The whole New Frontiers were intended to be the improvement of OF. Now you see the problems again OF had caused. Some players were of the opinion that the second mile gate in Agramon was a bad decision though. However like always some like it some don't. (from community pool) Telling that OF killed uthgard is like telling that 328 players killed uthgard ... so there's no way to complain about that. |

OF don´t killed Uthgard. Every day we have 700-750 players on in prime time, and there are days with 800 players. I remember when Agramon was implemented in Uthgard, and population went down from 400 to 200 players. Now we have very good fg action in frontiers, only must solve soloer and little group problem. But you can´t ssay that OF killed Uthgard.
In Emain you have mmg too. If amg has zerg move to mmg. And if you will say me that zerg will follow you, this happenend in Agramon too. If albs, hibs and mids want 1vs1 maybe they should speak with their realm mates about no add in 1vs1. All only say im zerging because my enemie are zerging. Strange but all players who zerged in Agramon are zerging in Emain now too, and say that solo action died. Who played solo stil playing solo. |

*C) Soloing is too demanding to be interesting. The time to get into the RvR zone is very high for players who wish to solo in their home realm, recharge costs are incredibly high, since the action zone is a lot more spread out. It requires a lot more time where you need to have your charges up for a lot less incs and thus BPs. Recharging with cash is too expensive to be a worthy alternative.

can always find enemys in albion frontiers...
and you can easily get solo rvr during the whole day in emain... except 3-4 hours primetime. oh i forgot, roxxorchar arawn has no speed QQ plx giev its fine at the moment, hope the staff will continue his good work and gives a xxxx on annoying whiners |

Amg has 95% action because all soloers who cry about zerg go there to give rps for zergers. What we did in agramon when we had zergers in amg? All moved to hmg or mmg. Here if you have zerg in amg move mmg, but stop go amg for die and give free rps like donkeys. |

I don´t remember who said about make bg for soloers only. In Uthgard you have 2 perfest places for soloing Hadrians and Odins. No one fg roam there, you can move there unstealthed without problems. Why all soloers don´t try go hadrians or odins 1 day?

right..in emain yu have MMG too...but to go there you MUST pass AMG. i know mids dont know the problem with a 24/7 camped milegate.. |

If Uthgard's target is to get livelike, you will NEVER ever achieve that goal without optimising Uthgard's setting to its playerbase, patch level and RA system. Why? Because the most important aspect from a live server is that it had a player base that was 4-5 times bigger than Uthgard's population! As long as you believe you can make a server exaclty like live, throw it out on the internet and hope for players to come play on your server, you will never come anywhere near to what live used to be, even though the technical aspect is the exactly same. There would just not be enough players to sustain the gameplay you created. Creating the exact same environment for a way smaller community without adjusting it and scaling it down will only have a NEGATIVE effect on your own population numbers, since the players that do play, are struggling to find action. After all, they are playing in a setting ment for 4 or 5 times the amount of action they are actually finding. As long as you don't realise this, players will only come to your server for a short while, before realising you do not care about them, but about chasing technical aspects from 7 years ago. As long as you don't start focussing on your current population and it's action issues, you will never ever be able to make your server population grow to the numbers they should have, namely LIVELIKE population numbers. Without doing this, you will also never be able to transform your server to fully livelike, because your population can't handle it. It's a necessary 'evil'... (unless you try to do it like you are now, by not giving a sh!t about your active community, but by creating something for a population you don't have!) If you want to make a livelike classic server, you will have to make customisation steps to get there, because like I said, player base is probably the most important aspect of live. And you can NOT achieve this by mindlessly chosing to do it exactly like Mythic has done it in the past. Not on a freeshard project, not on Uthgard... Not to mention you should seriously start working on fixing balance issues like the RA setting. It's another factor that's preventing players from fully enjoying their time on Uthgard, just like a lack of decent and rewarding action is. As long as you don't fix these things, Uthgard will just be a server that will attract new players, only to laugh at them with a smack in the face when they hit 50 saying: "Hahahahah you wasted time leveling here, you fool! You thought u were going to find rewarding, fun and active DAoC RvR? No way! Only by wasting more and more of your time you might have a chance to get some good action here and there. If you don't like it, you can p!ss off!" And yes, the majority of the players who got this message will leave. Have you never wondered why your RvR population remains so low, even though you get more and more new lvl 50s each day? You might not want to give this message, but I've seen it happen over and over and over. If you would just scale your setting down to your player base and balance your setting, Uthgard would have DOUBLE the amount of players it has now... And even then, Uthgard would still not be ready for livelike implementations. The moment Uthgard hits the 2000 player cap, you can start thinking of this, but for now, you need to get real and face the problems your CURRENT population is facing. WAKE UP PLEASE, STAFF, WAKE UP!!! It's not our fault for wanting to play in OF, it's your fault for not admitting a population level similar to Uthgard's can not handle a livelike implementation for it! You seemed to realise this for NF (instant ports, just a handful of keeps per realm, ...), but you refuse to do it for OF... Are you trying to blame your community for wanting OF??? It definately feels like you are! PS: I'm trying to press your noses on the facts because I care about DAoC, I care about the classic experience, I care about the best PvP game ever made, I care about Uthgard. If I didn't, I would never be sitting here trying to let you guys know. I would have left the minute I got the message you are spreading (unintendedly). If you do not something it is only your personal opinion. 2) Less drama please, especially as you yourself wished a nice discussion in your first posting. 3) The Uthgard-world is big. Tell your friends to come here, there is plenty of room for everybody. This is what I do and if everybody does Uthgard will slowly grow larger. |
