Need some advice regarding pally RA's. At rr5 what would be best for paladin?

atm i have Mob3, VR1 and purge 1

I was planning on going Mob4 (since all i do is switch guard targets and slam/snare) and VR2, since 10 extra points in purge for 5 seconds doesnt really seem worth it at this RR level.

How good is Anger of the gods? I like the Vehe Renewal and i use it ALOT, so another level in that will prob make a big difference to group heal.

I think u need det4 at least, if u roted or mez cant slam, etc ^^

det5, sere2, lw2, vr2, aog2, block4, aom4/em2 in this exact order upon reaching higher realmranks.

without det5 youre kinda useless for groups, since youll still be standing around mezzed/rooted for 15 seconds.
With sere2 you can keep endu running for your group to be able to sprint.
lw2, well... did you ever play a pally? their enduconsumption in fight is far greater than that of any other char, and you still need to sprint and slam.
vr2 is a pally 2k hp groupinstaheal, that heals anyone but the pally. good help for clerics.
aog2 is a nice attacktool, 20 dps dmgadd is a nice to have thing.
block4 to be able to block enemy assisttrains better, since this is gonna be your job for a while against most groups.
casters are your natural enemy, you can barely do anything against them. beein a hybrid with max con still gives your roughly 2k hps in the end, but they are gonna drop quickly if a caster starts nuking you. get some magic defense(aom/em), since a good pally is more important for a group, than any other tank.

If you reach 12.2/11,7, you might want to try this spec^^ but it also works quite fine without aom, so you also will rock against noncaster groups with 10.2/9.7!

VR2 is a 750HP group heal far from 2K

what is 2K is the range

no purge? Im assuming sere 2 +yellow pom is enough for perma pow regain out of combat, not just sere 2 on its own?

y, sry about wrong info on vr, mistook the values...


You could trade det and vr for purge/ip if you want to solo, getting mob and em earlier aswell, but then youll be useless in groups, since noone need a shiledtank with enduchant that will purge first mezz, stay rooted for 40 seconds, then mezzed for 40 seconds, then rooted for 40 seconds again, in long fights, zerg, or nonstop-inc.

For the beginning you are fine with Det 4, Mo Blocking 3, LW 1.
In between you might skill Purge, too, depending on the gameplay of the grp/you. You can create a macro in case of root to make the AT come to you for guard, but Purge can be usefull for a lot of situations. Later on you shall raise AoG up to 2 and Det to 5, depending on your gameplay Mo Blocking to 4 as well.



Sere 2 is totally wasted, learn to switch your endu aura and you can keep that 4 points for something usefull as well.
Sere is just working out of fight and you can handle endu aura with switching, as you shall not be afk while you run in RvR you are perfectly able to train switching. ;)

when was the last time you played a pally, llane?
each time you switch any chant, you loose 5 endupoints, each time your sprint ticks, you loose 5 endupoints, each time your chant ticks, you win 5 endu points. sprint ticks quicker than chant does so you automatically loose a little while sprinting+endu, lw1 corrects this issue allowing you to sprint. in addition, each time you switch you loose 5 points. with enduchant youve got to switch once every 4 seconds, therefore you loose 5 additional endu every 4 seconds. you need at least lw3 to make p for this loss completely.

When did you play Pala last time? There are alot of ppl that can prove you that it works quite well with LW 1. Just let your Endu tick the full 4 times and don't let it run for the whole time. Switch on/off and not Endu on and then any other aura on to cancel Endu.

And maybe I explained it wrong. Sere is just used for Endurun, in fight you can use a Mana barrel, that is more than enough even if you don't switch at least one time in fight. But as you don't need to use any pot in fight mana can be refreshed if you come close to 50%. More than enough, 4 realm points can be a quite better invested.

with 5l5 u should have (in my pov) det 4 aog 2 mob 3... i tried several specs with my pala and mob 3 is enough since mostly ur guarded targets will run out of your guard anyway ;) AoG 2 or even 3 is in my point of view one of the most effective RA's in the whole game, used in a tank grp at the right time it can ensure the victory of a fight.

well my pally has now det 5 aog3 mob 3 and sere 2 ...sere2 is just a luxury and should be only used while u are collecting points for either the next det/aog/mob skill
btw im quite happy with my spec..pally dont need anything else in my pov
