Don't get discouraged if you can't always find a group, especially at lower levels. I got groups, but only on a truly consistent basis once I hit around 40. It seems to be getting better now though.

not too worried about it tbh... frankly thats why i chose thergi-alb over hibby-bard. I couldn't immagine lvlin a bard w/o consistent groups. In any event, Im US, EST. Lookin forward to seein ya'll out there.

Any idea what an average /played looks like for a brand new 50? Just tryin to guesstimate how much time I gotta put in pre-fun?

can differ from 2 weeks to 2 monthes depending on the hardboneness of the player :)

A firend of mine just leveled his theurg with ice/earth spec in less than a week to lvl 40 solo, so two weeks doesnt sound that unrealistic id guess.

right on! thats always good to hear. Out of curiosity, I've been browsing these forums for a few days (DL rate here is like 23Kb/sec so it took forever) and I haven't found this yet...

Just curious if there was a Uthgard-specific loot table anywhere? Would be uber-helpful to know what my options were as far as drops go for templating as well as what loot from live made it here and what didn't. Anything like that in existance at this point?

No, and there will never be one, but a few players have a zip file with the item database info but it is not allowed on the forums

you'll pretty much figure out the items you want/need by the time you hit 50. as for the early levels, just use DF sets or get someone to craft you a suit.

Welcome!

on items: expect all loot to drop which is pre 1.80 and not SI + some added stuff from tajendi (look it up in the forum, if u dont already know what tajendi is) + megalodon drops are split on glacier giant, green knight and the other OF-Bossmob.

another thing: get the craft fix.

Now have fun and suffer cause you didnt choose midside :P

So, in attempt to be civil, I'm avoiding my gut-reaction-response to that rule in order that I might be afforded the opportunity to ask why?

seems kinda.... silly.

imho.

people here are generally addicted to the nostalgic feeling of the way things were before you knew everything about a videogame and get jaded, etc

to the "mystery," of DAOC, in a sense. that would be my guess.

LUCKILY, you do not seem to need such omniscient knowledge to prepare and execute strong templates or play uthgard competitively, so it is sort of a null point.

in other news, rep mordred love :D

goooootchya. well, in that case, right on. I do have to admit, i never thought of it till now, but i suppose one of the things i enjoyed about daoc was a sense of 'maybe im the only one who's been here' as opposed to the over-run-carnival feeling WoW had.

Good point. As for templates, I guess i might as well start askin now... I can build my own temp, but I could use a few ideas for what extra (jewelry) type pieces I should shoot for and where to get em... any ideas?
