The new server will cost 175€ for the initial setup and is charged with a monthly fee of 49€. Currently we are not in an urgent need due to so many nice persons who helped us. If we get in trouble again, of course we will let you know. Thanks for your offer. :)

Thanks for taking the time to respond to the question that i have asked, and it is great to hear that you have such supporters of this server. I enjoy the free DAOC game service you provide and can't thank you enough. I have come to call Uthgard-Server.Net my home away from home and spend many valueable hours with my friends exploring the lands of my realm. One again thank you for all that you have done, and continue to keep us updated on this site & servers need.

Thanks again.

You moved from dual core to quad core. But is this a real improvement?
Does DoL support multithreading/MPI at all ?.

i think moving to a hoster with a higher bandwidth will be more of an improvement than anything. i dont know of DoL supports quadcore or not, but it cant be a downgrade, even a single thread on a core-i7 moves faster than on an athlon x64 xD

im more excited for OF! thanks for all the work staff :D

oooo edit:

when can we see some details of your OF plans? example: DF ownership, NF drops, zone teleporting... sorry just too excited :P

DOL is written in C#, a native .NET language which is completely supporting multithreading. We aren't nerds wasting money for multicore processors without any knowlede about it. ;)

Not yet, but we have been thinking of that. However it would mean a huge amount of additional work which would only delay the OF release.

Is there an exact date yet for the switch? And approximately how much downtime?

looking forward to the switch.

I gave up Daoc shortly after NF on the live servers. I has once known as Larsan the hunter of Galahad. I stayed away From emain mostly and had great success simply Hunting albs in there own lands.

After NF all the keep porting prevented me from have much luck finding anyone other than bridges along with the other 20 stealthers. I spend all that time playing and imo was reduced to a keep arrow turret.

Quick question that I have not seen asked.

Will we be required to download anything additional for OF?
I'm thinking no, but I may be wrong.
