I have recently come from HIB Live and used to have a mentalist which was a great char in rvr with DOT and AOE Dots, i used to love seeing the enemies flee with DOTs on them and when high RR the DPS from DOTs was good.

In mid is there a DOT mage, someone said the shaman has aoe DOTS, but is this the only class? if so can you spec a shaman to be full DPS as i have always seen them as buff bots and healers?

any help or advice appreciated

Dots are 98% unused in rvr (besides stealthers and sometimes shamans dot the person being assisted on)

but pretty much dots are a big NO NO NO in rvr zones

if you like seeing people run in fear from your dmg you should roll a dps caster and not a dotter

The Mid classes that can use single target/aoe dot are the shaman and the bonedancer. Using dots means you need to kite the target to death, which is an art . Shaman has disease, which is the most efficient because effects are long, and bonedancer has aoe snare, powerful snare effect but it is in a different spec line, and effects fade so fast that I think it's a pure waste of mana.

Anyway, whether cave shaman or bonedancer solo can hardly succeed in kiting to death with dots a bunch of players who would disagree with the idea.
