Hey.

Myself and two others are going to be rolling up on Albion pretty soon. We are wanting to roll three toons that will work together in a trio or a small man grp for RvR.

So far we have narrowed it down to either;

- Cleric
- Mercenary
- Friar

OR

- Cleric
- Mercenary
- Theurgist

OR

- Cleric
- Mercenary
- Cabalist

In option 1, I'm concerned about the lack of CC and rupting. How much of a problem do you think this will be when we are running as a trio. I do however like having two rez's and also having a back-up healer.

In option 2, I'm concerned about the Theurg becoming completely useless quickly into the battle due to running out of mana... How is the mana situation with Theurg on Uth atm? Also will the damage be suffice in a grp like this? I do like the large amount of utility support the Theurg can provide though.

In option 3, I'm worried also about the cabalist. I have seen a lot of posts on the Uth forum about Casters in relation to this server, and most of them speak of them negatively. I do however like the roots, snares and debuffs.

Finally, in terms of the Mercenary, will it provide the best melee DPS out of Alb's classes?

Thanks for any help!

Personally I'd include a sorcerer in any trio you pick because it has so much utility to offer. Not to mention those three setups are particularly vulnerable to mezz. From your selection I'd pick the third one. With the cabalist you get nearsight+root which can severely disable enemy casting classes due to there being no cure for nearsight except purge on this server. Disease will be a good help versus enemy tanks and like you said the damage he can deal out with body debuff is quite handy.
I dislike setup A because of the complete absence of CC. 2x Rezzers sounds okay but in small man RvR a PR or 30% doesn't count for much, or shouldn't atleast.
Setup B is okay aswell. I wouldn't worry too much about Theurg mana. Pets cost a fixed percentage and not a fixed amount of power if you get me. In small man RvR a theurg doesn't need to rupt that many people so mana should be okay. His strong air nuke is nice (if you spec it) and his root and weak ae mezz could be useful. I'd still prefer a cabby though.

Btw I don't play Alb myself that much so I might be missing something.

i would not go with a merc only. without pala he runs out of endu very fast and thats it with "best damage output".
my favs would be:
sorc, caba, cleri (for leveling: pom, mezz, pet; damageshield, areadot, pet; buffs, heal) (or theurg instead of caba, or second sorc..but caba will exp you to 50 in 0time.)
Pala,Reaver,Cleri (Pala 2h,reaver flex, cleri more buffspecc,bc of pala healchant) [or instead of reaver: merc, armsman[pole], if defensive style, both go with shield, blocking working now fine]

That made me laugh.

Ive done alot of 3mans. Like last night, cleri, pally, reaver.
But i wouldnt say its the best setup really.
Ye it worked for us goz there was Juvez as pally, as in, best there can be. But most or all pallys here suck so, unless u are very certan of ur pallys abilities, i wouldnt go that way.

But the general best 3man i sopose is sorc cleri reaver.
Missing endu aint that big of a problem, get pots.

my favorite is also sorc caba cleri, you have a nice dmg with body debuff (sorc could be 39/37 cabby trispec) you have speed nearsight stun root mezz duo to caba+cleri combi the best way to exp a char to 50 quickly on uth.. and well you also have 2 pets

yes corwin, i got pots, you got pots, and most of the 50s got them. but 3 new ppl joining uth dont got them, and got no money to get them either. thats what you have to count on. and if these 3 xp together and go to bgs till 4l2 together, the pally should play well enough.

Sorc / Caba / Cleri

or

Sorc / Minst / Cleri

First one is a really powerful, but more vulnerable to FGs.
Second one has a bit less damage, but great utility for rupting and even a second demezzer, also MIGHT give you the chance to run from a FG, however mid FGs will have the eventual upper hand.

for rvr you need a speed or you won't play for a long time so in the setup you posted, only theu clerc merc could work and would work fine, others ones are bad

as trio on alb i'd choose
-caba sorc cleric (debuff body damage (and maybe fire on jug 3 ^^))
-reaver sorc cleric (debuff cold damage)
-could try friar friar théu

If u want to trio alot:

- Sorc mezz demezz + healpet/snare dd pet
- Minstrel mezz demezz , instant stun + speeeeed + dd pet/healpet
- Cleric/Merc (shield) or Caba

This way you have some healsupport with pets.
Alot dmg with elylsage.
Enouhg speed to avoid bigger groups.
As well a good combination of RAs: Ichor, SoS AM, ...

All Chars are useful in Group...

Greetz
Nes

ps. Make sure your mincer know how to deal with pets.
Nothing is worse than a mincer without pet.
