Guys I was trying to understand, why the mythic ppl did things like hmm I dont know SAVAGES :P.....
I've found this article here...
http://www.camelotherald.com/article.php?id=208

Which says something like....

Classes and Races: Heavy Tank Abilities (Armsmen, Heroes, and Warriors)

The following abilities were added in Version 1.81 :( :( :(

Taunting Shout (5): A frontal cone taunt that causes mobs to turn and fight the tank or at least increase the hate amount towards the tank. Re-usable every 20 seconds

Metal Guard (15): A group buff which increases the ABS of group members by 3% excluding the caster of the buff. If there are multiple casters of this buff within the group, then this will stack up to a maximum of 9%. Other players can receive the benefit of this buff, but the caster of this buff cannot so it is possible for another heavy tank to have a bonus to his ABS if another heavy tank joins the group and casts this buff. Duration 20 minutes.

Bolstering Roar (30): A Point-Blank Area Effect attack with a 250 radius that breaks root, breakable snares and mesmerization effects on group members. If the tank is CC'd (other than root) they will have to purge themselves or wait for CC to wear off, then fire this. Re-usable every 10 minutes.

Rampage (40): A group shout which increases the chance to resist debuffs by 35%. Lasts for 20 seconds. Re-usable every 5 minutes.

Fury (50): A self-only shout which gives a 50% chance to deflect crowd control spells (similar to the RR5 Bonedancer ability), and increases resists to magic spells by 50% for 20 seconds. Re-usable every 15 minutes.

Climbing Spikes (35): Self castable buff which lasts for 30 seconds that grants Climb Walls. The player will have the ability to climb walls for a short duration of time. While climbing a wall, any hit that does more than 31 damage will knock the player off the wall. Furthermore, any hit which knocks the player off the wall will hit for double damage. If the buff runs out while the player is on the wall and he/she does not reach an area where they can walk again, they will be knocked off the wall. Re-useable every 60 seconds.

Passive Benefits

- Upon choosing the path of a Hero, Warrior or Armsman, the player will be granted 50% siege resistance automatically. This includes all siege damage types, including Boiling Oil.

- Scars of Battle: Upon reaching level 41, the Hero, Warrior and Armsman will begin to gain more hitpoints as they progress towards level 50. At each level beyond 41 they gain 1% extra Hit points per level. At level 50, they will have the full 10% benefit.

- Memories of War: Upon reaching level 41, the Hero, Warrior and Armsman will begin to gain more magic resistance (spell damage reduction only) as they progress towards level 50. At each level beyond 41 they gain 2%-3% extra resistance per level. At level 50, they will have the full 15% benefit.

Now I just wanted to ask... Is it a dream to have these abilties on uthgard?
I mean this could make heavy tanks a little more desirable for groups...
or at least a little more desirable or fun (if you want) class to play with.

C'mon I want to see diferent setups on bgs, at these days it looks like the only setup that worth to play is "support classes x3-4 then light tanks".

E.G: Hibernia (druid, druid,bard, bm , bm , bm , bm , warden (dmg add + AOG + ressist)).

Its just an Idea... plus Im working and bored............

Regards!!!!!!!

Yes I'd like to see those too because heavy tanks serve no purpose in rvr (warrior maybe because they're the only mid stoi tank with slam, but they're not really needed).

Sadly staff sees this as a class specific change and will not happen, no matter how balancing and needed it really is because it's beyond 1.80

While on the subject:

Dark Age of Camelot
Version 1.82 Release Notes
Class Changes and Cross Cluster Guilds and Alliances
February 16, 2005

- Shadowstrike has been replaced with Remedy for the Shadowblade RR5 ability.
- Assassination has been replaced with Remedy for the Infiltrator RR5 ability.

Yeah anyway...

Putting Guard on classes of the healing or PBAE archetypes is a very viable way to play. Hibernia particularly liked to run groups like this on live.

Maybe if you're only thinking about maxing out your group's melee damage and don't particularly care about casters or if your group's main healer survives then the heavy tanks are useless, otherwise I consider them to be a very valuable asset when played well in certain builds.

Happuch

50 Thruststyle should be 9 sec (patch 1.80 afaik).

Remedy instead of other rr5s (Patch 1.82!!!) but 5 secstun instead of 9 (Patch 1.8!!!) is unfair :(

1.81 the famous tank love patch^^ and improved cures for primary healers (including cure nearsight)

1.82 gave friars and wardens the melee heal procc buff and improved thanes stormcalling.

I personally would love to see these two patches implemented instead of patching backwards to 1.65. But I understand the issue for the staff that they need to draw a line where to stop to keep it a classic server.

I would like to know why the staff picked that line (1.80) and if it is posible to change that line... I think like hopscotsch do that move that line to 1.82 will bring a "new balance" to the server.

P.S: Im wondering if savages of this server have played another class and fought agaisnt a savage. Just that. :P sorry but I had to say it.

Regards!!!!

This is true, but they cannot carry large shields. There are benefits to being a full tank. That was my point.

Very very negligible benefits.
