I've recently heard that 8vs8 is not wanted on uthgard and need confirmation and reasons for the following situation:

- not allowed to arrange fights in irc
- 8vs8 zones are unwanted
- getting flames for raiding with 8man

i would encourage a chage of policy towards a more fg-friendly uthgard,
because there are many ppl and groups that do want good 8vs8.

stop criminalizing 8vs8 - thanks!

- not allowed to arrange fights in irc

----------> simple, RP farming

- 8vs8 zones are unwanted

------------> simple, splitting up the action

- getting flames for raiding with 8man

------------> simple, people don't like getting pwned :P

Are we playing in the same server? Uth is more 8v8 friendly the live was ever. The "elite"@albs usually flame/whine if somebody just closing to their mighty 8v8 battle, so don't really understand what's the problem.

About the other side of the zerg:

Haldan wrote:So, if you get busted by a highRR group, possible reactions would be:
- if you are solo => get a group.
- if you were in a group => get another group.
- if you were two groups => get another group or simply form a zerg.

As mentioned many times before. DAoC is not a battleground game like WoW or a XvsX area like guildwars. It is a dynamic simulation of a fantasy-medieval battlefield meaning that you as a player have to adapt yourself to the events of the battlefield.

Even if the zerg was blinddeaf, i think you had fun :p

It's another thing you are boring, because ppl loged out from agra (guess who is the reason?:p) and getting keeps. There is no problem with u, maybe 1, u usually get Beno 1st :D

There is a good reason why forbidden the to speak about rvr in irc. As Nixian said. The killing msg already implemente to find more easily the enemy. (Only problem if you kill everything then that's not too much help)

Small tip:

Stop raiding every keep and tower. As opposed to what u may believe it actually doesn't lure any 8man groups. I did one 2 days ago and it was just annoyng having to run all the way to Beno when all there was left in Agra by then was an alb zerg and your grp that logged after 1 wipe.

theres nothing bad on 8v8 but 8v1 is just so lame that seems to be your main source of rps.

Arranged 8v8 fights are, normal 8v8s are totally allowed and wanted.

In fact any fair fight is wanted, because those are the most fun. I rather have PuGs of 10 ppl running around than just 8 because some high realmrank or guild group will just not have a challenge AND it would just not be fun for the PuG to not stand a chance.

Therefore I'd say: if you wanna go RvR, DO IT! Just get a template together, bring out your favorite char and call your buddies, and if you really don't stand a chance (!!!NOT!!!: Oh I want easy RPs, let's go with 2 FGs at the same time.)just ask some more and run at a lower speed or try to make separate groups of 5 for instance and stick eachother.

I've seen an Alb PuG run out with 9 or 10 and some random Mids with more than a FG aswell and tbh we have had some nice, fun and challenging fights.
As long as there's a fair chance to every group out in the zone, everyone will have a way better time and we'll be seeing a lot more people.

So:
- on the one hand, strict 8v8 elitism isn't working if it's 'forced' onto PuGs aswell by the community
- on the other, zerging leads to nothing but the destruction of RvR. Excessive groups such as 2 FGs sticked will only cause RvR action to collapse due to the fact that most groups do not want to participate in such fights.

Imo: let every group decide on their own what numbers to run with, as long as it's not clearly too powerful for the opposing groups and that FG is the main standard.

I believe, if the community really wants to, it can become more fun for everyone this way and most importantly more active.
This sunday, 9pm CET, in the middle of primetime, for some reason there was NO other FG running than us. At that time, there were 660 people on the server... That is a Serious problem.

Omg,
Zubasa stop qq.

8v8 is unwanted, while there is no response for this, like in the time between 02:00 to 12:00. Even though it sucks to have no port for RvR when you block those ports by raiding the keeps.
You just use this to RPfarm, because there are no other highRR SGs in other realms and if other realms start to raid back porter for some RvR-Fun you farm those randomBGs down.

Stop generalize facts, knowing they got a special case and maybe start to try play some normal 8v8 or at least switch the realm, there is at least alot higher RvRpopulation in midgard, as you should have realized yet.
