Your best bet it simply going to be uninstalling daoc portal, deleting the folder, and then re-downloading the client. I run on Vista without any issues.

Not the "patch", the path :P

DAoC portal > File > Settings

Then set the DAoC Installation directory with the browse button.

It works thank you - sadly I am told I need the 1.95 patch being I'm running the 1.98 and that I merely have to click on the camelot.exe to de update?

I'm really tired of this - think I'll just move along because clicking on the Lab.exe for example just updates the client to 1.98 + whatever mini patches they've put in.

I have feeling the folks that get into this stuff are just "used" to tooling around with various things and it's a simple affair by now. For me this is my first time - how to (a) turn my client into 1.95 by simply clicking on the camelot.exe makes no sense (b) why would I do that even if I could because that would obviously effect my actual daoc pay to play client would it not?

Exactly. Then set the file check checkbox to yes and press update button. That will patch your client to 1.95.

It's GOA that raised the patch from 1.91 to 1.95, not Uthgard. Uthgard applied the change because there were issues between people using different clients.

Well I appreciate it - I did get it going. The community for /advice was non existant - people were reported as link dead consistently and after I realized the same old mana regen of long arse time waiting at level 1 was back in play in this free shard vs the actual game I was pretty dumfounded. I was hoping this was an improvement.

Also - I saw the catecombs quests were non existant and the thought of a no community solo experience to who knows what disinterested me. Good news is it got me to miss the actual client and I'll be going back to there.

Thank you though.
