1.65, old Realm Abilities and the state of archery.

Just wondering what peoples views are on the announced changes when looking at archery.
From what i remember on live, this was not a good time for archers. See hidden assassins could detect non detect hidden classes (archers) from clip range. Making stealth without camo almost useless. Will these changes make the archers even less playable? |

As Hunter you could still go for:
Spear 46 Composite 50 BC 34 Stealth 7 (rest) ![]() Edit: Why do I actually spend so much plat for my melee hunter template? Maybe i should template for this spec now, before i have to spend another xx plat for changing?! I could save around 20p now and another xx p in the future! ![]() |

I remember on live alot of the hunters did exactly that. Only thing is 1.65 means infils get 9s dragonfang. Oh, and you'll go down to evade 2

If we will really see infs getting dragonfang back, i will play an inf.
He will rise from rr1-rr8 in the same time my ranger would take to get from let's say 6l5-7l0 (pve included) ![]() See hidden was a joke back then. A desperate and radical move of mythic to kill the archer class. They had so much trouble with that archetype in the first months of the game, when archers literally could one-shot players, that they felt there was no other alternative left to keep them in check. What did an archer do in these days? He grouped or was rr10 already or quit. The bigger the group the better. We will see stealthzerging regularly then and i wouldn't like to solo either as a ranger, if that gets implemented. Scouts und also hunters to some degree are already at the moment forced to group/or add only in order not to fall prey to mr.viper3-rr8 assassin without any fighting chance at all. With OF RAs viper3 will be gone (BUT 30sec active Viper remains for NS), but an idiot proof system gets installed, that will enable any assassin to PA/BS the archer. I'd almost prefer the ridiculous current viper3-scenario, because now purge is on a 15 to 5min timer. With OF-RAs it is a 30min-timer! And for those, that do not know: See hidden is a OF-RA, that costs only 8 realmpoints and is PASSIVE stealth detection of archers and minstrels on CLIPPING RANGE. CLIPPING RANGE! Can you imagine, what this is like? CLIPPING RANGE! It is the single most ridiculous thing, that was in the game. Even before Dragonfang, that gives a 9sec stun and was more like an anytimer with the OF-RA dodger available for assassins too. Question here: Evade-cap of 50% was established later than 1.65 in the game, right? If i am correct here, then assassins could get due to dodger even more than 50% defense with evade. Am i the only one, who would find this crazy? I seriously hope, that we will have customized changes here or the reactions of the players could be drastic (vote with their feed, if you know, what i mean). I am a human being, goddamn it!

And what are doing every days some luris?????? And now they have pd, ip, stealth... Nothing will change luris are zerging now and will do it with old RAs. My thoughts exactly Fresa. I've been really pushing myself to stick at my Scout as I've always enjoyed the archer playstyle. But... the more changes I see happening on Uthgard, the more I'm swaying to reroll as an infil.
I remember the days of old RAs just before the launch of the new ones, and for some classes this was a real low point (why do you think they made such drastic changes?) I'd really like to continue playing an underplayed and unpopulated class on Uthgard, but if things are going to get worse... well, I think we'll see alot more achers retire to the shelf. |

Purge on a 30 min timer aswell as no more Viper 3 will also generate a lot more non-stealther soloers, which in turn might make it viable for stealthers.
However, I will agree that a 9s Dragonfang is over the top. I can't elaborate on See Hidden, since I haven't fully played a stealther in RvR back then. |

I don't know what will the staff choose, but at least i hope they won't do a "custom balance" system, just because some players can cry louder then others. On: Just to remind you: The old and the new system also has advantage and disadvantage almost for every class if you compare to eachother. I had a scout on live, and i remember that i had see hidden too (yes that clippingrange stuff). it worked for 1 min every 15min?! archers will lose their mos-advantage..but thats it, and no assassin can see archer/minstrel all the time in clipping range!

Now all infis play with viper3, with old ra they will play with dodger5 for dragonfang.
