Nixian, would it be badif I downloaeded from darkageofcaemlot.com the trial? the one in the link above is horribly slow on my computer lol.

I'd be downloading the free trial.. what would you suggest? my computer often crashes after a few hours i guess kuz it overheats but idk... so if it crashes all information is lost...

anyways i think i can get the free trail in time but this one is taking forever!! lol thank you again

basicly you would have to repatch once you are done downloading the free trial so tbh I think it comes down to the same download speed

Last Question (and thank you for helping the noob)
I have downloaded and updated DAoC Client. Now im getting error in Portal
I go to File Settings and enter the path shown in my clinents properties and on the website and i get an message like " portal will now update your camelot.exe...etc." I click Okay and - Camelot.exe was not found verify pathand try again... whatd i do wrong ;T

ooh wait i figured that part out finally... but now a new noob error.

but then the girl brain starts working or get lucky and im in!!!! yay it works

but then they fail... Now the updater 'after i click patch and start update says i cannot connect to server. i got the net its working and ive tried this a million times.... uhhhh

Okay so I can connect to other servers but Uthgard, at the loading screen it loads to the last part and freezes... so ive been playing on a unpopulated server... sorry for spam lol

hmm does windows provide you with any error log or anything?

when ever i try to patch in the settings window it goes to the updater and says unable to connect but im almost 100% positive i have 1.98. I can only play on one server... and im the only one there lol... halp!!

go to daoc folder --> run camelot.exe --> run patcher with complete file check



then you run daoc portal

make sure your settings are right

something like this..



then you press close

then you press the freeshard tab

press uthgard

type in accountname+psw

and press play

if it doesn't work after that im a bit baffled about what to do next

there is no camelot.exe in that folderrrrrr.... cry

however i ran test-shrouded isles daoc and click ed the box. it checked the files then said again that i would have to try again later because of a connection issue

you cant use shrouded isle client anymore

you need to use darkness rising or labyrinth

To hijack this for a second. What you said nixian made me have a question, as I am new as well!

I just downloaded the EU version of Catacombs by clicking on your yellow link in the sticky. Is that client still fine? Is ToA still fine for that matter?

What I am afraid of is my comp will not be able to handle Darkness Rising.

Final question, while in the loading screen to get to my character selection menu, it says Darkness Rising. Does that mean I am currently running Darkness Rising instead of Catacombs, and if so, how do I get Catacombs or ToA to run?
