I have been trying for about a week to log My characters into the server. I can play on other servers on DAOC portal with out my computer freezing. I can play the same accounts on Differnet computers in my home. This is what I have done so far.
I have reinstalled the game form GOA.
I have reinstalled portal.
I have turned off my windows Firewall.
Unstalled programs that I think that could be effecting the game.
Updated directx, and all Drivers and windows.

I play the game from my laptop which is a dell with
AMD dual core 2.ghz, 3GB ram, ATI radeon x1200 on windows Vista.

I stated that I can load onto other servers on the Daoc Portal, That is not true. I Freeze for all servers when I try to load a twink into the game.

When I try to load the game from my laptop it will freeze. And spam that my twink has left the game so every one can see who is playing. While my game freezes and fails to load and also only the game freezes No other programs appear to be effected.

does it reply with any errors?

No error messages appear the game will just hang.

Have you checked your memory use? Memory is often shared with graphic card on laptops, and Vista uses a LOT of memory too.

When the game freezes I still have over half my ram left to use, and over half my cpu. My on board video card has 320mb for dedicated ram, and 1471 total ram availible ram. The game has worked on my laptop many times.

Have you updated to patch 1.95?... the server prompts you a message if you haven`t and it can be easily missed if you don`t have system message turned on... you`ll freeze after 180 seconds and be dropped to character screen or sometimes dropped to desktop
