What benefits do getting insturments your level have?
|

Hello,
Having 50+ modified instrument skill is mainly for charm. Permit to charm higher con mobs. It also could permit to make your chant staying 1 or 2 sec longer and having more efficient twisting, it was for bard, never really tested with mins. Now, i guess it have no effect on mezz, dd or stun on your spell line, maybe i'm wrong. Pirith. |

I dont mean a skill, I mean the item a bard holds to play his songs. They have instruments you can buy, but I wanted to know if they even help unless you find a dropped one.

Scjar, Pirith just ansered your question correctly. There is a myth, that level of an instrument increases the effectiviness of a charm or mezz.
He tells, that this has been tested on bards, but doesnt mean, that it works on minstrels aswell. But the point is, that, the higher is the level of an instru, the greater should be the amount of imbue points, you could set onto that thing. Instant-dds shouldnt be affected by instruments in any way, cause they only depend on your casting attribute(int, emp, pie or cha). These are just casts, like from simple casters. @Satz : The question is just more weird, or let's say simple, than what we though ...
Instrument are REQUIRED to play most of your chants, like you need a weapon for hit. Pirith. |

I think the question was not if he needs an instrument at all but rather if there is a difference in having e.g. a rowan lute (green for level 1) compared to an ebonwood lute (which is purple).
Happy hunting!

That is what I meant, sorry for all the confusion. It just seems like buying a new instrument is pointless at say level 10, until they start having modifiers on them. |

Hello,
So finally we got it. About all i know, level (let's call it like that) of instrument, is more for chants. Work in the same way as your level, better is you instrument longer remain the chant after you stop it. It was the way it works for bard on live. But now, the question, does it work on DoL and more particulary in Uthgard. Personnaly i don't know, if you got only few gold and expect of buying new gear/weapon or a drum, i would choose the first way. Pirith. |
