Noone cries that needs to run too much, everyone cries that there is NOONE in agramon (and tbh they're correct). And you're talking about "zergs"

Maybe you would like to implement all old frontiers :D? And then when you read from ppl (yes, you had to read from ppl because you could not read death spam) that enemy were in another zone you have to suicide and go back there making even 2 loadings?

It would make me laugh if some people cryng because they need to run so much in agramon would agree with old frontiers :D

Your comment made me laugh.

This is just not true. Its more a matter to MEET the others in Agramon. Players are there.

But please stay on topic OF.

% Players in RvR - % Players in Agramon = % Players in portal keep

Spoiler: The answer is 99%

@wheelchairbuff:
How can you make such a statement? As GM I see where players are and run. What you tell is again not the truth. I don't like people who consistently try to make everything as negative and pessimistic as possible. This only increases the problems. If you want action in NF just dont make such untrue statements. Players who believe you will log out if they don't find incs in 5 minutes. This is certainly not helping anyone!

I would love to see OF / Emain back in action.

The whole discussion regarding hotspots would be obsolete. There will be two milegates and some well know travelling ways.

I have played enough NF and it is not the nostalgia factor, why I prefer OF over NF. OF is way better designed regarding the hotspots. In NF you have several spots where things can happen. 6 milegates, some bridges, some towers. This is just too much, on a small server you will always have problems to find some action.

I really think this will draw many new players to Utghard as well. Remember how many always wanted a Pre-Toa-Server.

Regarding the patching thing. I think on Yggdrasil you did not have to patch your client in order to play there.

I've yet to see a well argumented negative reply to this proposal.

Please say why you think it's not a good idea or why you feel Agramon would be a better zone.

The only argument I've seen up till now is that people are claiming to get added on every fight and to get zerged down once a fight lasts too long.

Well, in case you haven't noticed, it's a matter of honor and group motivation to respect fights or not. In Agramon there are numerous occasions where groupfights take place on the way to Agramon, making it hard to not add, because no groups is going to swim to avoid a fight. If you're lucky, the passing group will just try to avoid the fight and go further. If not, you get added. This also happens just as good in Agramon.
However, in OF, you can always choose to take a slightly longer, less used route to be able to pick your targets or to avoid getting added on, there are main routes, but the zone is so open that you can actually take a similar route, but 3000-5000 units next to it, making it safer to fight, but still possible to find incs. There's no way you can do this on the route to Agramon from the frontier zones.
Not to mention that wohast already reminded us of the fact that when OF was on live, Emain was the only commonly used RvR zone, without having the 'zerg issue' that is brought up here, while there were 3 times or more the population Uthgard has during primetime.

I think that if you try to be cautious about the route you're taking, you will have no problems getting added on, let alone getting zerged. I don't feel this is a viable argument to not have OF.

Again, I'd like to hear more if you can think of one.

It is my truth.

With regard to my mathematical equation, it was just a reference to yesterday evening, when you said there were plenty of people in agramon - in actual fact, they were in ATK.

It may not be the whole truth, but it is getting closer.

FEA: There's at least one mid group roaming agramon all the time, so make a group and increase the action <3

i already mentioned vale of cathal (old emain new designed) as a possible rvr zone for 50...well maybe its to much BG style then and real OF emain would be better to keep up the frontier zones. anyway i liked the fact that you had to run through that nice valley to get to the main keep of emain (dun crauchon) in the new designed old emain. its a nice location for several keep fights with huge zergs on both sides but also room for fgs small groups and solo players

There isn't one. OF can supply it all:

- Choke points with instant action.
- Area for the people who want to be left in "peace" to fight (Breifine).
- Fewer paths for groups to take, leading to more over all action.
- The "feeling" which Uthgard is looking for.
- More.

The only real negative factor I can think of, is that implementing OF would attract a mass of players, this causing a lot of adding/zerging. But lets not worry about that now :p

I forgot to add this to the pros.

I also believe that OF will create a new influx to the server and that donations might be more needed than ever if word gets out that Uthgard has a classic setting (old RAs or not) and is using the Old Frontiers RvR maps.

Uthgard will be the closest thing to Origins, the long expected and hoped for server from Mythic, which now seems to be cancelled.
In fact, I believe that Uthgard would actually be BETTER than Origins, since the Uthgard staff doesn't want to kill the game like the staff wanted to do with Origins regarding reduce CC duration and grief protection.

Please keep in mind that this thread is OF related only. Old RAs are discussed here: http://uthgard-server.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=10096

I do not agree with Cathal, it has too MANY choke points, leading to mass adding and no freedom for even fights. OF is so good because you have the opportunity for both.

I would like old nf, but only with classic 10min port and nacklace to buy xD... and maybe open old og/hw, too... these were the really great zones in my opinion! and if ppl getting zerged in emain => move hw/og .. (with df related keeps beno/bled ...don't if know if that is possible at all)

additional add old ra's and all would be fine^^ maybe..
