Hey there, another thread asking for opinions on classes! As the title states, I'm guessing 75% of the time in PvP I'll be solo, and the other times I'll try for groups. Never really been into stealthers (minus mins) but love playing casters, so here are my ideas.
Mid: SM or BD Hib: Enchanter or Eld Alb: Sorc Cab or Theurg I know playing a solo caster isn't the smartest idea, but it's something I enjoy. Of all these classes, which 2-3 would you recommend most for strictly PvP? Thanks! |

PVE: 75% solo/25% group
classes you picked don't solo in rvr |
|
1) Sorc
2) ench 3) BD Having speed is nice, but be prepared to die alot on any of the solo casters. Sorc obviously has the most potential for solo and group play of any cloth caster in the game. link

your trolling attempts are getting worse. for solo casters id go with: sorc/cab (1v1 caba is probably just as strong as sorc, 1vX not so much) ment sm |
|
Appreciate the answers all! Think I've narrowed it down to BD, Dark SM, Sorc, or Enchanter. Now just to narrow it down more! I know I can play all, but just wanna focus on 1-2 ![]() |

keep in mind ench doesnt get root at this patch lvl so your only form of CC is a 9sec cast stun which is basically useless when youre fighting det tanks. so you have to rely completely on your pet snare when kiting enemies (does it even get snare here?). on a light ment you get long duration single mezz, heals, dot, and a charmed pet.
edit: BD would be probably just as ''bad'' (bad as in SM is better imo) since you would probably have to get 3 healer pets to get sufficient heals but then lack disease/snare pets. only benefit would be debuff root but then again SMs get mezz and root ![]() |

every caster can do well solo if they avoid pa from stealthers.

Good point! By bad do you mean good? Sorry I was just a little confused by your explanation and quotes lol! I'll probably focus on sorc for alb, and SM or BD for mid. If you had to chose between BD or dark SM, which would you take? |
|
I would choose Enchanter: speed, baseline stun, resist debuff, inst rupting attack speed debuff on 5s timer, snare-casting nuke-pet ...
Albion Forever!

Thanks, I like the idea a lot but missing a root or mez scares me just a little bit ![]() |

Everyone except one person who replied to this thread is either extremely bad at this game or doesn't RvR or know anything about game mechanics.
If you're going to play a Caster for Solo Albion would be Sorc or Theurg Midgard would be Bonedancer or Runemaster. Hibernia would have to be an enchanter unless you want to run with no speed or camping then i'd probably make an animist Pillager - Savage
<Reign> Midgard |

Interesting about Theurgs and RM, thanks for reply! Not having LT would be tougher I'd imagine, but both speed classes. Haven't heard of RM for solo before, even over SM? |

I am not sure Theurg is still that strong after they nerfed the Air pets to actually respect PvP stun rules (1 stun -> 1min imminuty) instead of PvE ones (next stun = half duration). You are still strong with the engage range advantage and the fact your pets will continue to fight even when you run or are rupted. My Theurg wasn't the hyper solo PvP char, but it was decent enough to roam around the areas to scout some keep door strengths (only thing this RA was useful for... checking keep door levels @_o) or check the area when a minstrel speed group was going to reraid or stuff like that. But I can agree, at least secondary speed is more or less mandatory... else you'll bore to death, before anything happens.

You need to think about what you want to be doing solo in rvr. You going to be floating from keep to keep just hoping to kill from walls? Roam the hills hoping for some soloers to run by? Camping choke points like mile gates?
Each role can vary your class choice , as each caster gives up some ability for another. My favorites overall in rvr would be: Sorc: Mind sorc until RR 4 then respec to body - Still have speed, awesome aoe mezz, root, pom, and get a sick DD and life taps. Light Eldritch: lack of speed sucks, but you get aoe mezz, stun, disease, and super powerful dd and the best of all, nearsight. Runemaster: Ns, speed, DD. Not as strong as light eld in a 1v1, but speed allows you to be more selective in fights and finding more people. Roaming the land without speed is aids. |

Great points thanks, and all 3 of those sound great! How would BD do in your opinion solo but with no speed? |
