well true enough that a large shield "only" can block 3 attacks.

ive always got the impression from live servers that there is "at once" missing.

you could easly have 10 blocks out of 12 attackers with a blockbot as long as they didnt all hit in the exact same moment.

i could never figure out how big that window excatly is - if you have 10 of the same mob on you and they all hit in sync you get hit pretty bad. if there is even a slight time difference you might be able to block them all.

dont think this holds true for uthgard though.
would have to be tried out.

If I remember correctly, it was changed with a late patch. At least this is the percentage I found during my search about information regarding the blockrate.
Of course the loading tips stated this, but don't forget: You are playing from a client version 1.95.

PvE blocking rates currently depend on the size of the shield being used. Currently, the blocking rate caps are as follows for PvE:

Small Shield: 80%
Medium Shield: 90%
Large Shield: 99%

Note: These values only affect PvE - in RvR, blocking is currently capped at 75%, and 60% on Pendragon.

So PvE block caps should function like in the first quote.

Have you noticed the grabbags's date? 2008-09-26 17:26:44

Yes, I did, that's why I posted the second grab bag (that you didn't quote) that states that the PvE caps haven't been changed with that patch, and remained as before. Before being like in the first quote. Since this is the only block cap change I could find, I think that means they were like that even in 1.80. :wink:

Also, could you give us the source for the 80%? I tried finding it somewhere but no luck, all I get is either 75% or 60% (the new patch).

Is that still a mistery or any staff can give the formula for block and parry atm? I want to know if its possible to cap block and parry and what race-skill lvl-mob/mop for that if it is. Whenever i ask to other players they say strange things that makes no sense like 'troll blocks more then kobold' or 'norse sb evades more then kobold'. The formula should be somewere in the code. Even if you dont know maybe you can give us a link for the developers of the current emulator.

Mistery.

Maybe not exact ? In tutorial forum :
[Mech] Game-mechanics: Evade, Parry, Block,...
Evade = (evade * 5) + (((dex + qui) - 100) / 40)
Parry = 5 + (((dex * 2) - 100) / 40) + (ParrySpec / 2) + mop
Block = 5 + (((dex * 2) - 100) / 40) + (ShieldSpec / 2) + mob

Evade and Block rate are halved against dual wielder, parry against 2H.

Weponskill of attacker should reduce this rate, and it doesn't.

I saw it in tutorial, made a search before asking for the formula. I think its how it supposed to be but no one believes that its the way they work in Uthgard.

Yes, u're right. I took a look on DOL sources, and if Blue has kept the formula, there's huge difference with what is said in tutorial.

[edit] i should have looked version history :D

Block cap should be 75% and because the mechanics to lower it doesnt work here, any shield user is FOTM.. they all have 75% cap VS 1 hand attackers :P . Small , medium ,large shields work the same VS 1 attacker, when 2 or more apear in the ecuation the use of medium and large is required.
