This would be my first go as a Cleric. I figure I am going to start tonight and practice a little bit in Beta. My question to all of you cleric specialists out there is while I am leveling how should I spec? Then of course for my 50 spec, what should I do?

    I would get 7 enhancements first(str/con & dex/qui buffs),
Then go for 11 rejuvanation (first insta heal and good basic ones).
Then go 20 enhancements (good dex/qui),
    Then 23 Rejuvation (group insta).

i wouldnt go smite before im 50 or know my end spec.

this is my opinion

Full enhancement until 40 (maybe 7 points on reju for cure), the best buffs for all the group it's better than good heals in pve. More stats, more damage, more defences means less heals.
If you plan to do bgs you have to take instant heals, and recalculate the points so.
I use 40 enhancement 36 reju for Lv 50.

good rule of thumb is to go full enhance -1 level. good buffs for your group and your rejuv will inch it's way up enough to help with variance on base heals.

as an old cleric myself i would think as dramass : hybrid and trying to check some thresholds between levels

full enhance you can't possibly buff everyone with your conc with best buffs so no real use :/ ... and you are still supposed to heal without emptying your mana bar with uncapped base heals that vary and drains mana like hell ^^
that would generate less downtimes for the whole group

but that is only my opinion :)

Full ench until 40. Then rest heals (36). When PvE you just need full buff the man who take all the agro, normally pally or dps, and if possible just SPECS for the rest, 1st dps melee then casters, intel for wizards if are. Just an opinion :D

Ever played a cleric in RvR? O.o I mean on 1.65, with 1350 smite range. How could you even recommend it?

The typical low RR specs for Clerics in RvR are:

40 enhance, 35 / 36 reju, rest smite

OR

42 enhance, 33 reju, rest smite

There is no mana left for more reju and no concentration left for more enhance. :D (ofc could change on high RR)

Greetings
