Can someone please offer me some help on maximizing the DPS on my Skald?

If I have a shaman with endo 3 (so infinite indo) should I go axe or sword to do the most DPS or stay with the more endo efficient hammer? What spec should I go when solo or without endo regen? What about if I have the endo realm abilities? Thank you for your input!

Sword 50 / 43Battlesong -> max DPS
Hammer -> low endu & Backsnare

I prefer hammer to slow down tanks

I skilled 44Hammer, 46Battlesong and 17Parry. It works fine in grp and also solo.

I saw some post's where people was talking going 39 Hammer/50 BS/18 parry too. They was saying the lvl 50 shout yielded good spike dmg. Anyone able to comment on this spec?

dmg difference between 39 and 50 weapons isnt worth the points, at least on uth1

So you mean the dmg made from the lvl 50 shout isn't worth the dmg loss you get from going 50 weapons to 39?

So a 39 Hammer / 29 Parry / 44 BS wouldn't be a good spec either?

You ask for a spec for maximum dps and you are planning to have that high parry? You can't max everything but your spec is decent for solo.

Well you know, there's "what's the ideal spec for pure DPS?" and then "Ok, now that I know that...what's a more realistic spec where I could kill things successfully while surviving?". Hehe

that 39 29 44 specc is the smarter way, at least it was on uthgard1.

i had (for example) those 29 parry +11 from items + 10 from realmrank, made 50... then i spent 20 points for mastery of parry4 and ended up somewhere between 40-50% parrychance. and yes, it worked out, simply because people arent used to a skald that parries half of the hits. more parries, more shouts possible, do the math

and yes, i also tried the other way, 50 weapons + pain5 + str4 or something... dmg ofc gets better, but still not that big deal ;)

Skalds are hard to spec badly. As long as you have at least 39 weapon and 43 BS (spd 5) you will be fine at low RR. Adjust weapon and/or BS up based on your intended play style. If you solo often, more parry will be very important.

Personally, I am not a fan of 50 BS in 1.65. The shout is nice, less resists and 30-40 more dam over the 44 shout. You also get the last rest regen song and fire, cold, matter 20% resist songs. However, I'd rather put those extra points (44BS or 46BS instead) into more weapon and parry (for solo).

50 Sword / 43 BS is nice DPS with Ragnarok. But loosing Conqueror is a big deal + one of the DDs is only blue in that case.

Why would you maximize dps for a skald ?
You solo ?

Because in groupe rupt is more expected than dps i think.
Even if both can be good.

If we was ingame I'd ask you what class you play and that would determine how I'd answer lol. This game has almost turned me off from playing it based on how many people who play DPS classes expect all other classes to spec 1 way to maximize the DPS classes DPS.

Why would you not maximize your dps for a skald? You can still do all of the "rupt's" a skald could do regardless if you go maxim dps. You also have the potential to do significant burst DPS which is crucial in PVP.
